    Cannon Bars

I will second, third, and fourth that. Woodsman pro bars are Cannon bars. I have four of them and if you look back at the heel of the bar where all the labeling is at you will see Cannon stamped on the bars...............Wade

    Too Freaking Long!

I guess a 36 inch bar would be alright if you needed to catch up on some sleep while you were making the front cut. A 24 inch bar is pushing the limits of comfortable cutting..............Wade

    Husky-misleading marketers?

Advertising is almost always misleading to some extent everybody finds some little way to stretch the truth or push the envelope just a little further than they did before. Specs are nothing more than just a basis for me to come to the conclusion of whether or not I want to take a look at that...

Closing Throttle Beneficial During Long Cuts?

I have been cutting for twelve years and have never worried about how I was holding the throttle. You just need to make sure your saw is not over revingin the cut. I squeeze the trigger just enough to get the jod done I dont use any more power than I need.......Wade

    Bad compression release? stihltech

I have had a couple get a piece of carbon stuck in them. I try to clean my saws every sunday before the race I alaways try to blow the gunk out or take a brush to them. Since I have swithched to synthetic oil I hardly ever have to pull them out and clean them there is just no carbon build up to...

    Isn't Sthil the best?

I have always had a love for chainsaws just like everyone else on this site. I have tried almost every make and size available at some point in time. The only saw I am npot familar with is a jonsered and I just ordered a 2186 off Mr. Dennis Greffard. I am really excited about getting it. I am...

    Bad compression release? stihltech

Jim did you take the compression release out and plug it off. Most replacement cylinders I get come with a plug or cap to fit where the compression release goes. I usually just plug them off on my smaller saws I never use the compression release anyway. I tell you though air leaks are a real...

    Isn't Sthil the best?

If that's the case then there was no need in asking the question. I would have to have a try at all the top handle saws before I was certain one was better than the other..............Wade

    Isn't Sthil the best?

Masterblaster, You will definitley get some input with this thread. Both saws are top of the line you cant go wrong either way. I am personally a husky man at the moment but I was raised on stihl so I have the upmost respect for both saws. Buy yourself a husky and see what you...

    Sloping Backcuts?

In almost any scenario sloping backcuts are bad practice. I have seen it used as Jacob mentioned and have been known to use it myself in the same situation. I have done it myself trying to get a tree to slide back down the hill so I wouldn't have to drag the cable up hill fifty feet to hook it...

    MS 460 stuck rings?

I had the same problem with a 2101 a few years ago. A guy I cut for gave it to me because he said it froze up on him. I sprayed the cylinder with PB blaster and it loosened up after a couple of minutes but it was full of gunk. I figured someone had screwed up the mix. After I cleaned it up it...

chainsaw pranks and wood related pranks

We use to put chains on backwards, stuff the air carbs with paper towels and of course the popular greasing of the gear sfifter knobs, seats and so forth. Wade

chainsaw pranks and wood related pranks

Yeah, flipping a chain inside out is pretty cool. It's kind of like folding a band saw blade up you just got to flip it just right! Its good for several laughs.

    Synthetic enthusiasts

I just thought I would let everyone know that I will be putting up my power tuned 372 in a couple of weeks. I ran the saw on Mobil Mx2t at 32:1 the saw has roughly cut over One million 250 thousand Bd Ft. The saw is still sitting at 163 pds of compression and is still mighty strong for the work...

    PP Echo 340 (don't laugh)

A good hand takes pride in running good equipment. A saw that performs just as you dreamed is a dream come true. Enjoy!!

O you have got to be kidding me!

Man, what a tub a of crap. I will give him credit for rambiling on with the best of them though. I wonder how he arrived at that load of BS? Probably some rich guy who hired a team of researchers to compile and arrange for him a description of this stupendous instrument of tree doom. I give him...

chainsaw pranks and wood related pranks

I thought I would take a stab at getting a good thread going. Whats the funniest thing you have done to someone in the woods or at the shop some thing saw related. I use to work for a guy and he had several guys working at the time I was a cutter and had a guy topping for me well he was butthole...

    2186 woods saw by Dennis

I am so pumped up right now. In the morning My wife will be going to the post office and priority mailing a check to Mr. Dennis Greffard. I am going to step up to the big leagues and try a 2186 Jonsered made to get up and kick that ass in the woods. As Gypo would say in a couple of weeks trees...
