066 NWP BB kit from baileys

I run a 8 tooth and a 32" bar on my 064. It pulls it just fine. It's ported and muffler modded too. I'm not sure about others, but my 064 seems to have higher rpm's than the 066/660's i've cut with. I've got a spare 064 parts saw without a top end, i've been thinking of putting a BB kit on...

    064 father's day pick project

Nice Uly, I have a CityX myself. Excellent score on the 064.

064 av not running right down low

It sounds like a carb adjustment problem to me too. My 064 starts perfect after it's warmed up. It screams at the top end and has good power from top to bottom. Is your clutch in decent shape? I was having stalling problems at very low speeds too, but that's because my clutch and drum were...

    064av after rebuild

Does the flywheel have two keyways?? It sounds like you have your flywheel is in the wrong keyway. The saw will run like this but starting it will be a real bear. Good Luck. Hope to see some pics soon. Little Fella Stihl 064 Husky 61 Jonsereds 49sp Homelite Super-XL

My first YouTube vid!!....Husky 61 frankensaw!!

I just picked up a husky 61 with a 266 top end. If I start it cold it starts and runs awesome until I turn it off. If it sits for a few minutes and I try to start it again it floods out and will not start for quite awhile. Has anybody else had this same problem?? Do I have my low end set too...

    Baileys and backorders

I just ordered a clutch kit for the 064, backordered, no email notice, no call, luckily the clutch came a week later. This is my first dealings with bailey's. I prefer to go to the local saw shop, but I thought I would give Bailey's a try. Don't know if I'll be going back to them or not...

    288xp done, muffler modded

Just wondering why you're running full skip on a saw like that. You should be able to pulll a full set with an 8 tooth sprocket no problem. Your cutting time would be much faster with a full set. Just my 2 cents.

    dremel for rakers?

The raker files I get at the local Stihl dealer are some the sharpest files I've ever used. I have bought enough of them to use at home and at work at the cheese factory. I'm not sure of the brand though. They even work well on some of the hardened steels I've used them on.

    064---660 swap

I'm not really wanting to part with them. I think I would kick myself in the @$$ if I did.

    Jonsered 49sp Vapor lock?

ID Red is an industrial grade degreaser in an aerosol can. We use it where I work. Pretty good stuff. It's made by ZEP.

    Jonsered 49sp Vapor lock?

My 49SP was doing the same thing and it was just the vent tube for the gas tank was clogged. A little Id Red and some compressed air fixed it.

    064---660 swap

My 064 has no muffler spacer as well. Going from my memory, the cover screws are M4 on mine as well. I've got two 064 parts saws that just need a P&C kit them. I've been thinking about doing this mod as well.

    Chain cut problem.

You're not running low kickback or anti kickback chain are you? I've ran a couple of saws with that crap on them and you can hardly cut with the nose it seems like.

    Timber Fallers Saw?

I use a 064 muffler modded with a 28" sandvik bar and a full set of square ground chisel teeth.

    The 064 lives!!

Are you running a 7 tooth or 8 tooth sprocket? I just put a 8 tooth on my 064 and was impressed with the extra chain speed.

    Do it all saw!!!

I'll go for the 064.

    jonsereds 49sp help

You might try pulling the plug out and crank it over a few times then put the plug back in and try it. It might just be flooded.

    Six-Sided Files!!!!!!?????

I've used both files on my chain. I seem to get better results with the triangular file. I just use a round file to take out the gullets when needed. That's just my preference though. Just as long as the chain cuts like a raped ape that's all that matters.

    conflicting information on skip-tooth chain

I run a 28" with a full set of cutters on my 064. Love the way it cuts. I have a 24" with a skip chain on a Jonsereds, it cuts good but not nearly as fast. Of course it doesn't have the chain speed that the 064 has either. I saw if you have the power to pull it, run a full set. But thats...

    064 questions

Is your saw tuned up?? I just got mine back together recently and I wasn't impressed with it until I got it tuned up. Now it is one wood cutting machine. When I was searching for parts in the past I believe that my Stihl dealer told me they could get me a piston for around $120. That was...
