Strange flat tire tire, never happened before.

Nice one - pleased to hear all turned out well! Haha, broken rakes....not had one of them for years since the clumsy fat bloke got given the boot.

Tulip Popular with random yellow leaves?

Sylvia, you have just been a FANTASTIC help! These trees prefer to grow in acid/neutral soils. Well, where I live (in Sussex) we have a relatively shallow layer of decent soil (quite high OM content) over chalk. This is alkaline. Add to that the fact that I water with grey water from washing...

WHAT? A document for a rope swing?? No wonder lawyers are coining it.

    worked slowed

I do mainly landscaping, garden maintenance, planting, hedging and non-dangerous tree work. Been busy. Taken this week off to spend with the kids. Back to work on my own next week as workmate away and I'm in for a really hectic week. Thankfully we have heaps of regulars whose gardens keep on...

Tulip Popular with random yellow leaves?

In the last of the pictures you can see the branch that grows to the right then sweeps off to the left as it tries to find light. I meant to post a picture of this weeks ago for Climbinarbor.

Tulip Popular with random yellow leaves?

Sylvia, here's mine. But I'd guess it's a couple of years older than Taipan's one. It certainly isn't the most thriving of trees, but it keeps bouncing back each year. The problem I have with this one is that it's over-shadowed by a very close (2m away) conifer hedge that I can't remove as it...

Tulip Popular with random yellow leaves?

Looks fine to me - I wouldn't worry.

    Flip it or screw it

They're German, which goes some way to explain the over engineered and over complicated bit, in the style of BMW and Mercedes. Why just have a body, wheels, transmission, engine and brakes to get from a to b, when you can have a whole heap of electronics and moving bits on top of it all.

Tulip Popular with random yellow leaves?

Oops, yep, meant "grow" not "go"! And yep, exact same time each year I end up with some (quite a lot really) leaves turning yellow, going crispy and falling. I don't know if it's typical of this sort of tree, or whether it's stressed in some way, but it always seems to deal with it. I'm glad...

    Flip it or screw it

Isn't it that the screw caps are still on the 660 as they haven't run out of the mouldings for that saw yet? I don't mind either caps really. Pros and cons for each. I have trouble with the screw caps after my workmate has fitted them as he over-tightens them. But if I put them on then I have...

Where do you sell or buy trucks?

046, thanks for the offer of helping. The problem I have is this though.....unless I have a huge wad of money to spend, then I am looking at a truck over 10 years old to get out of having to pay hundreds here to put it through the Single Vehicle Approval. This is a think set up by the government...

Top Handles-The Best of the Rest?

do NOT get the current Tanaka POS saws. Perhaps the replacement will be better. We'll see.

Chevy Silverado 3500 6.5 turbo diesel Dually, 1991, advice please....

Infomet, yep, I know Turners Hill well - 20 minutes or so up the road. As to why I want a BIG truck...well it's not sensible I know, but it's something I've been offered in exchange for two cars I've had here and been trying to get rid of for a couple of years. I really need to go see it and...

Tulip Popular with random yellow leaves?

I've got one of these too. This time of year (late summer) it does the same - some leave start to yellow, go crispy around the edges and then drop. But it also seems to be growing new leaves throughout the summer as well that make up for the droppers. It's done it every year during the past...

Where do you sell or buy trucks?

If I could scratch together the money then I'd be seriously interested. But money is tight at the moment so I can't spend any more than the meagre value of the two vehicles I've got here to get rid of. Sorry Magic, and thanks for the info.

Chevy Silverado 3500 6.5 turbo diesel Dually, 1991, advice please....

Nacho82 and 046, I had feeling that £7k was steep for US equivalent prices, but it seems to be typically what older US trucks are going fro around here. I'm considering the import route, but experience with importing from Japan (many used vehicles over the past few years) is making me think...

    Just starting, suggestions?

I've got a box full of bits of paper and paying in books that I have to add up once per year and write numbers on a tax return!

Chevy Silverado 3500 6.5 turbo diesel Dually, 1991, advice please....

if it rattles and squeaks even a little bit less than what I drive at the moment, then it'll be luxury! Thanks for the info on the front end bushes. The one I've been offered hasn't been used much recently, and the bushings could well be perishing. Wish I could scrape together some pennies for a...
