    Just about blew a gasket

Exactly. I'm not a professional or have a business that requires saws or other tools, but I have both and am always willing to help out a friend or acquaitance. I'll trailer a mower over to cut someone's grass if their mower's down, try to weld or fix something broke, come cut up a tree, etc...

So what did Santa bring you?

Oh, and what I got for Christmas? A dozen or so cans now worth a nickle apiece here in Cuomo-land.

So what did Santa bring you?

Well then, have I got a deal for you! Seems I've a slight excess of various long guns (nothing of the black gun persuasion) and the "need" for a ported chainsaw . . . . PM's accepted.

Which of these saws will respond best to woods porting?

Amen, brother! My question/choices almost exactly! (Except my 372's pre-xt). Can't wait to read the rest of this one for the consensus.

    Cross-eyed from reading Break-in Threads.

Although my experience is much less than many here, I have had a few new saws over the years and I always did the 40:1 mix for first few tanks thing. Not usually a problem because my Stihl "4 mix" trimmer runs on that and I also use it for the couple old Homelites I have. All that said, I'm...

What to do with leftover Christmas trees and tops

Brushpiles! Especially if you got raspberries that goldenrod's overtaking, or growing under walnut. Don't know why, but cchristmas tree piles seem to really stimulate raspberry and blackberry. Of course not everyone likes them, but we do. I go to the local dump and snag as many as I can...

If you were to buy a new saw 60 cc and under

Well, Joe, I LIKED your thread. And your old Homelites. Great job of posing questions and keeping responders focused. Generated a lot of useful info for us hobby-ist weekend warriors. Merry Christmas!

    Okay.....so who's gettin a saw for Christmas........

Me! At least if you count the 562xp that arrived last week, I will (or did). Does it count if it got "hidden" amongst other orange saws in the shed instead of wrapped and under the tree? She's much less likely to notice it in the shed and her holidays will be all the happier . . . .

    New 562XP Questions

OK, guess I meant to say I experienced none of the dreaded problems. My other xp saws are 346 and 372, so I was hoping for an "xp experience," which the 562 was/is. The balance of the tree was cut up with the 372 last week and the 562 did very well on the butt. It was cookies because that was...

    New 562XP Questions

Ha! Being a licensed immigrant to New York, I have to confess that's one bug that hasn't bitten me. I've come to love cross country skiing but draw the line at sitting on a bucket in the middle of a windswept frozen lake to catch the same bluegills you pooh-pooh in summer. Clearly an acquired...

    mid 80's husky

Thanks. The big one (395) went away this spring because I got a bad bug for a better mower and the 395 turned into part of the down payment. Really had no legitimate use for it anyway, but it was awful cool to run. Guess I need to update the lineup photo with the new 562 if it runs right on...

    New 562XP Questions

Thanks, just sort of jittery about the whole experience and not able to try it properly doesn't help. Altitude here is ~1500 feet, and I don't think I routinely cut anywhere above ~1800, so that's a positive. And you're in Lake Ontario below 250 or so, so sea level cutting opportunities are...

OK, 7 tries later I think I got a picture inserted or whatever. The 50's got pride of place among its newer companions.

I still have one I bought brand new in 1988 that looks just like that, missing logo and all. Was my 1-saw plan until 2002 or so, not by choice!
