    Firewood length?

    I do 16's for my Yotul 400. When bucking, the tail end ,whatevah length, has pallets reserved all for it. Wife likes the shorter splits. Am I spoiled, u bet, have a farm w/45 acres of hardwoods etc. Have worked hard to create trails so my s-10 can be my skidder. Cut my rounds in the woods...

    cover wood or not

    Seriously though, my gut feeling says wind and fresh air dries more wood piles faster than the sun ever did. If you tarp cover the wood, you lose both and the air underneath the tarp turns into a sauna bath. Definitely agree. I'm fortunate to live 5 miles up a peninsula and my pallets of...

    Thanks. Don't know anything bout compression and how to take a reading. And am I past the point of needing/wanting to do that. Do I need a special gadget? Maybe do a search here, ya think. Long as it starts when I ask it, I'll keep it happy with a sharp chain and keep it clean. Not much...

    chain sharpening question

    ...and as has been said on here previously, it will "match up" each raker with its respective cutter. I've used mine for over a yr and always feel more "secure" with it on the bar than when I attempt to hand file. That's just me. Agree with who said above......only need 1, not 2 of em...

    Never w/o it Lots of trial an error and thinking it out as to whether trunk will roll. I usually pull handle toward me and this works however I've read article or two that said push handle away. Someone help me on this idea. Use it for oak,8-12" and of course have it limbed up and topped...
