Tsumura tip, 4 and 6 rivet?

I have noticed on the Tsumura bar's that most show with a four rivet tip but there are some out there that show with a six rivet tip. Did Tsumura make a change or is it only on certain mounts/gauge that they offered the six rivet tips?

Whats a decent outfit for porting? I have been looking at a couple of them on Amazon but they aren't true 90 degree heads.

372 builders, port numbers any idea's how she will be?

OK, started getting some numbers last night on my 372xp build. Curious as to what builders think on the numbers. I don't know enough to even be dangerous at this time but if I am correct my upper transfers are going to be the weakest point on this thing. Blow down is large if I am correct...

    Sharp chains are for Sissy's

Picked this saw up last summer and finally got a chance to look at it. It's obvious that the previous owner felt sharp chain was for Sissy's.

    Let the build begin.

Well finally got something together on this build. My crank tool came in today and I was able to get the crank installed, so now the Nachi bearings and crank are in. I still have some parts in the mail and will be able to start getting this thing together when I have time.

    Saw build, trial by fire.

OK, slowly been getting everything together for my 372xp kit build. Been buying a lot of new OEM where I can and used OEM like the crank where I have to. Bought a used crank off ebay and didn't have time to inspect it when it came in and set it aside and later cleaned it up just to find it...

At what point do you consider a saw no longer OEM?

Lets start this off as this is just YOUR personal opinion on saws and NO answer is right or wrong. Just curious as to when you consider a saw no longer OEM/Original? I personally consider it still OEM even if it is not using the original: spark plug air filter fuel filter plastic covers...

    HD 12B rebuild kit?

Looking around for a Walbro rebuild kit for the HD 12B carb. I see they offer a K10-HD kit for rebuilding the carb, however this kit only offers the diaphragms/valve/valve lever and one screen but none of the welch plugs. When I clean a carb. I like to remove all the plugs as well to help clear...

    Members that turn cylinders?????

Do we have any members on here that turn down cylinders? when I assembly my saw I would like to find my squish and then be able to send my cylinder off and have the base turned to get me close to .020 on my squish. I would prefer to just be able to send off the cylinder itself once I find out...

Building a 372xp OE what all do I need?

I know I asked some of this in another thread but I figured this may get some of the builders attn. I plan to use a kit (haven't had much luck finding a OE saw to build on so I bought a farmertec kit) saw with OEM crank/coil/cylinder/piston and use Nachi bearings (I think these are the right...

Places to get Husky OEM Piston/Cylinder kit?

Where are some good places to look for Husky 372xp OE piston/cylinder kits? I have found a kit on SawAgain for $142.99 plus $6.95 flat rate shipping. Really cant find many other places with reasonable prices. I ended up buying a used OEM crank and a kit saw, I also have a OEM unlimited coil...

    Newest member to the family

Well it was a paid adoption but this is the newest member to the family. She needs a bit of attention since whoever had it before should NEVER work on a saw, heck use one for that matter. I'm pretty sure the chain was so dull it would have cut better if I turned it backwards. I tore into it...

    Oregon half skip

Does Oregon make half skip ROUND ground chain? I can find their square ground but if they are making round ground then I must be missing it. I hit up Archer but they completely missed the point of my question and was trying to sell me semi chisel as semi skip (half skip) so I'm guessing they...

    12" Husky scrench?

With a full wrap on the 372 it's a bit of a pain with the short standard scrench to loosen the bar nuts since it puts your fingers into the bucking spikes. Poulan Pro claims to make a 12" scrench, model #581562701. Now when I look this up I am seeing some saying that it's only a 6" scrench and...

    Sharpening EXL chain?

When sharpening Oregon EXL chain do you use the same method as when sharpening LGX? I went to Oregons site and it doesn't mention EXL and the box is showing the back angle (25 degrees same as LGX) but not the 10 degree down angle on the top plate. I'm guessing once the first filing happens it...

    Husky bar or something else?

Just ordered in a PHO 372xp. So looking for a 24" bar .058. I have found Husky bars .058(608000050) and I don't believe it has a replaceable tip, Sugi bars are hard to find in the .058 (VT3U-8Q62-A) and Tsumura bar .058(248RNDD009). It seems the Husky bars are either loved or hated, some say...
