While everyone else was out stocking up on TP and hand sanitizer I split a little oak.

Post pictures of your new chainsaw

Stolen right out of my garage while we were home. They used a bolt cutter to cut my cable lock and walked off with it.

    Oldest Saw You Use Regularly

My FIL's old Mac 1-42. My uncle has a habit of pulling some of the logs through the mud before we buck them. The old 1-42 with semi chisel 404 chain does not cut them the fastest but the chain holds out a little longer on the dirty ones that I can't get all the dirt off.

What’s your favorite mid sized saw?

    Dad's old pro Mac 55.

    Not so Merry Christmas

Unfortunately we are unable to have a dog with my wife's in home business (daycare) and the dog would have to be kenneled from 7 am to 6 pm with people coming and going all day. It would not be fair to the dog and we did have a small dog bite my cousin in our home one time (not the dogs fault he...

    Not so Merry Christmas

You have to catch them first and they were in and out before we had any idea. I'm still angry over it but I have accepted it and am trying to move on. In this case I don't think it is meth heads (There is a problem with them stealing whatever they can get their hands on in our community). I...

    Not so Merry Christmas

Was able to find a suitable replacement on CL from a local seller that bought this saw in August to finish a fencing job when his Stihl 441 took a dump and he needed to finish a job for his customer. His dealer was able to get his 441 running again(needed a coil) and he also dairy farms and is...

    Not so Merry Christmas

The problem is the thief has the advantage. If you were to attack or shoot them you would end up in jail as you would need to prove that you were in immanent danger. So unless they try to hurt or kill you you are not allowed to do anything to them. It's messed up but the only revenge I would...

    Not so Merry Christmas

I had a security company over today for a quote on a camera. My issue is that my wife has a home based business that people are coming and going all the time and I told her we need to ramp things up a bit.

    Not so Merry Christmas

I'm actually glad I didn't catch them in the act as I probably would have escalated things to the point that someone would have been hurt and possibly me. It's been like the wild west in my neighborhood with thefts and shots fired just a couple blocks away earlier this month. If you confront...

    Not so Merry Christmas

Discovered on Christmas Eve day that someone had snuck into my garage while were home, took a bolt cutter to the paddle lock securing my saws and grabbed my 7300 and to add insult to injury they took my 8' cable with them. Police report filed, put a post on FB offering a reward locally. I wish I...

backup saw stihl 026, redmax g5300, dolmar p5100 or jonsered 2055

I believe the 5100 would be a great backup saw for you. It will feel heavier than your McCulloch but not that much and have way more punch. That I can guarantee you from experience. My 5100 was my main firewood saw for 5 years and I still use it quite a bit.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Kind of happy tonight. I was able to get my late FIL's 1-42 going tonight. Put a carb kit in and it seems to run pretty decent and oils good also. I just need to tune it a little bit. I know it is not a speed demon but I just wanted to get it running right. My FIL left me two complete 1-42's and...

    Dolmar 6100 vs Echo 620p

Yes, it's good to see that Niko never changes, he hasn't mellowed any with age but he makes me laugh. I have not ran one of the new Echos but I have handled a few and they seem like decent saws. In the real word I'm not sure if a mag clutch cover holds up any better than a plastic one if you...
