Mesh screen that fits MSA hard hats?

Title kinda says it all. I found a mesh screen "kit" on wesspur that I think may work, but just wondering if anyone has tried it on MSA hats.

    Preferences for Lanyard Materials

I'd love to go the microcender route but my crew and employer are old school. My Cougar saddle and 2-n-1 are already pushing their comfort level. Need to stay with prussic or schwabish (sp?) for now. Would hate to drop the coin and then be told I can't use it.

    Preferences for Lanyard Materials

Currently using a 2-n-1 of Pelican (think extra "hard lay" 11mm HTP) with a 10mm 4 coil prussic. Bights way too hard and would like to make two separate lanyards adjusted with hip prussic or a DEDA. 13mm HTP, StableBraid or any of the 1/2" arb ropes. I've only handled Hi-Vee, true blue...

how many climbers wear a chest harness or top croll? ?

I've got a lot better idea now of what you're asking. You're right the croll isn't what you're wanting then. (I love mine for SRT ascending...but like I said, it has a very specific use/purpose) If you're not playing with SRT I wouldn't bother with one yet. I have the same saddle as you...

how many climbers wear a chest harness or top croll? ?

I have even more confusion after posting the pics of the spruce removal. A harness/chest-strap/Croll or any other setup using a "chest ascender" really only makes sense (to me) with a SRT ascent. If you are wondering if it would help alleviate some ab-strain during removals I think you'll...

    Dieing of old age?

I don't mean to hijack this thread. However, as a young up and coming "tree" person where do I start on learning this stuff? There's the university down the road with an established and respected forestry program. (I already have one degree...a lot of good it's done me:bang:) ISA's website...

    Splicing i2i in 12Sstrand hollowbraid

Thanks guys. I was able to find one of threads I was looking for earlier. Turns out the magic search was "Icetail" instead of anything to do with splicing or testing or 12 strand. Haven't tried a brummel yet as I'm still getting my head around the inverted brummel...probably just have to dive...

    Splicing i2i in 12Sstrand hollowbraid

I promise I've tried searching...and not just ob AS. What are people doing for homemade i2i in tenex and icetail? I remember somebody somewhere doing tests with only 2" bury and no taper but cannot find it now. Any help or discusion on how you ake yours appreciated.

Update on where we are with porting AT/M-tronic saws?

I'm not fishing for any "trade secrets" but I do want to clarify. Assuming I don't go aggressive on the porting I can use all the information that's already out there. Essentially port it as if it where traditionally carbed. Correct?

Update on where we are with porting AT/M-tronic saws?

Pretty self explanatory I guess. I'm looking at 70cc class saws and a nagging question is whether to go techno or stay old(ish) school. At first we knew they took to muffler mods very well but the jury was out on woods porting. I've ran across one 576AT here in a sig that has been ported but...

    Silvey Conversion Question

I live nowhere near the PNW...I'm sure I'll want to keep round filed chains on hand. There is no "cheap" way to get into square ground equipment, but why buy two grinders? Right now I'll keep round semi-chisel on hand for stumps/trash. Instead of my line up of round chisel and round...

    Silvey Conversion Question

I know a round grinder can't be converted to square grinding...different angle/adjustments needed. But can anyone who has a Silvey (Pro/Razur/Swing/SDM4) tell me if you could set one up to round grind?

Help: Waist Size/Dee-size don't match. Trying to fit a Cougar.

Thanks MD... I typed that thread up on my phone last night and by the end of it I was so frustrated I'm surprised it made any sense at all. I guess I was trying to ask if the belt size or the D-size should determine the size I get. I've decided to stop complicating things. The belt...

Help: Waist Size/Dee-size don't match. Trying to fit a Cougar.

I ordered a Med. Cougar from Wesspur and it arrived today. Only saddles at work are the classic "open" 4D style so I've never tried on a rope bridge. I'm 6' 2" and a solid 240...so I'm used to ordering L or XL in everything. My waist is 36-38" depending on brand but from hip to hip is a...

Basic knots, Which should a trainee start with?

All this other bologna aside: Tautline Blake's Prussic Clove Hitch Bowline (& Running Bowline) Have him get these down and he'll be ahead of the game. He won't have a "leg-up" on anybody though. His attitude will have more to do with advancement than his knowledge or ability...

Stop and sharpen or swithout chain?

Sharpen. I didn't think that many switched out. Sometimes I'm by the truck, sometimes I'm not. I enjoy filing, it gives me a breather and it makes me slow down enough to look everything over.

    Save Edge files

Don't know what Lowes sells, but around here the box store brand of file's are oregons...and they don't hold a candle to the Stihl brand of files. Save Edge last a noticeable bit longer than Stihls. Unfortunately, just this week a handful of my Save Edge files got wet. They don't seem...

    Husqvarna T435 top handle saw

I have no basis for comparison. I'm a brush-dragging grunt who gets along with the crew foreman so I get to do a lot more than most...sharpen and run the saws is among them. Never used anything smaller than an 028 before this job. I was impressed with what a 30cc/14" with safety chain can do...

    Husqvarna T435 top handle saw

It's definitely a rebadged Redmax GZ3500T. Was in a dealer's this weekend that had both the Redmax and Husky offering. Seems like a good lay-out as far as design goes...but haven't ran either. Heck, I'll be honest, the only the top-handle I have put enough time on to "know" is a 192t.
