    Finally built a log arch

Looks good! I've had mine for 3 or 4 years now and use it all the time when the snow isn't to deep. They work great.

If the T2 is in as good of shape as the one you have now itwould be a no brainer for me. Go for it!! I would love to have one.

    Winter gloves

Really like the Kinco's. If you have an OWB you will burn/melt the fabric part on the top but they will still last all year. I have one pair that I'm still using from last year but I just started to wear a hole in two fingers from picking up wood.

    OWB: Splitting vs. Not?

I cut mine 18-20" and split most anything that I can't pick up with one hand. If I have some rounds that are already dried from a dead tree I might leave it in the round if not to heavy. I tried burning the big stuff the first few years I had mine but get sick of trying to load and maneuver...

    $1500 Splitter Recommendation

Check out the Oregon brand splitters. I believe the price for the 22 ton would be in your budget. Don't remember what the cycle time was for sure but remember being impressed with it.

    Stumped MS250

Hadn't even gotten to that point yet. I did not bother cleaning it to put back on either. Thanks for the help!

    Stumped MS250

Got it! After rechecking my work and putting carb in the ultrasonic cleaner, along with checking the above mentioned......I removed the muffler and checked the spark arrest screen. Plugged up tighter than Fort Knox. Removed it, started it and put it in some wood and it runs great. Thanks...

    Stumped MS250

Haven't check the compression yet, guess I had it pounded in my head it was something with the carb since it ran better after the carb kit. will check comp and let you know. Thanks for the replies so far.

    Stumped MS250

Picked up a MS250 that would start and idle but would die with acceleration. Cleaned carb and installed carb kit, put new air filter on. Now it starts and sounds good out of the wood but when you put it in the wood it bogs out and dies if you stay on the throttle. It seems to be flooding...

To slab, or not to slab - concrete that is

Get your area level and free of grass and pour a pad. I poured a 16x36 pad eight years ago and a 10x6 pad that my OWB sits on 5 years ago and haven't had any problems with either one. I used wire mesh gates and poured 4-5 inches thick. If you have any buddies that are familiar with pouring...

    Black locust

Dry time I don't have a lot of experience with it but in the past I think it dries faster than any oak I've had put up. The last stuff I had was a living tree I worked up and split. Within 6 mo it was ready to burn. Don't know about other peoples experience, just sharing mine.

COUGH...Breathing smoke when filling my OWB

I load mine in the morning on my way to work so I have my 2 1/2 year old daughter in the truck with me. Every morning I get back in the truck coughing and she says, what you choking on daddy???? I guess I didn't even realize it that much until this year when you get reminded every morning by...
