I mean, who does that??
And another thing, what are they actually called?
Bumper spikes?
Bucking spikes?
Felling dawgs?
Pointy pivot thingy's?
Another one of life's great mystery's I guess...
Welcome to Kentucky! Lol.
It's a very rare occasion that I have a load of all the same species. And most of it is nasty, skidded, muddy and drug down a sandy beach full of gravel. Lol
I like the term, "pivot point".
And totally agree on the chain matching the wood, but how does one setup a chain, for say 10 logs - 3 hickory, 2 ash, a maple, 2 red oaks, a walnut and a gum?
Do you hold the saw back in the cut, not allowing the dawgs to touch the bark, or do you like to run up to the dawgs and use the leverage?
I'm talking about in an average "bucking firewood" situation. Not cutting for times, or any of that. Actually using your saw to produce actual product...
IIRC, the 164 has a #60!!
Been a few days though....
Carbs are a mystery to most, including myself. I'm still scratching the surface on em....
If picked up a bit of "theory" over the years though.
14.7 : 1 or bust!!!
Open up the Venturi on a 120.
Ta da!!
Instant 87....
There might be a different nozzle in em, but somebody would have to confirm. The 87 has a #40 nozzle.
measure a base gasket, subtract .005 and cut that amount off the base. Squish will be where u want it, and it should cure your free porting problem.
I'll bill you later....
