    Ethanol

It's time we fire the EPA

    gas without ethanol?

Seeing that Connecticut is Land of the idiots in power we are resigned to only 90%gas (with 10% Ethanol), luckily the local Firefighting supply store stocks 5 gallon cans of Tool Fuel, and a number of hardwares have 50 fuel, so there are some ETOH free choices.

How big a saw do I really need?

Sounds like you have 2 choices..... Stihl MS880 or Husky 3120 Seriously if you haven't found a huge need then a 50cc saw may be all you need. I would shoot in the 70cc area (an 038 Super would be sweet) if you want more power, but if your giving into CAD then look again at the first 2 choices ;)

    How's your "seasoning" season going?

    Chains sharpening poll?

let a buddy use my Stihl on our last camping trip. I needed as many as 12 on some tooth to get it back to par. I didn't supervise his cutting, so I asked him the other day what happened, he said he filed it when he was done, the i realized what happened he used a 5/32 file on my .325 chain.

    Bit saws with little bars?

perhaps I am mistaken, but i usually see shorter bars around here (North East) the PNW ten to have monster bars (for big wood, Big Dawgs (for the bark) and full wraps (for use on the mountains)

Anybody Have Any Luck With 50 Fuel.

I tried and liked the 50 Fuel. It runs well, stores well, and has no ethanol. Down side is that it cost about $20-$25 a gallon.

    Popular Mechanics Chainsaw Review

Not really a surprise, They tested a bunch of consumer saws (homeowner grade if you prefer), so it tells you what market they are testing for. It's not like they were running a 372 vs a 460 etc. etc. etc. They picked what is a very good consumer grade homeowner saw, for the reasons that...

What was the best learning experience you ever got working on a saw?

When I was about 13 years old I filed my fathers 038 for him while he was running the loader. He got off looked at it and got very angry, and yelled a bit. After he calmed down he thanked me for trying to help and explained that this wasn't his "chipper chain" this was his "chisel" chain, that I...
