THE 026 AND THE PARTS CANNON

Something my shop teacher said about spark plugs 35 years ago sticks with me, "the most technology you can buy for so little money".

    Stihl 031AV Ignition Conversion?

I see it. Thank you for posting. That is my saw fix. I was wanting to add to this thread, but couldn't't find my picture (from 14 years ago). This saw still works great for me, although I don't use it often. It was my dad's and I wanted to keep it in usable condition. It produces a nice strong...

Husqvarna 55 crank seal driven in too deep

I'd probably pull it. It would always be in the back of my mind every time I ran it knowing it wasn't right.

    Stihl 024's

Does the 1 ring version have the same size ring as the 2 ringer? 42 x 1.5?

Want to Sell stihl 034 super

Anyhoo, nice saw and a great deal.

    Sold 394xp

I agree with Poulan Hunter, leave it be. At least the seller has put a price on it and is not doing the "taking offers" bs. Prices on everything is up, who knows what saws are going for in your neck of the woods.

    032?

Sounds perfect as is. It is a 40 year old saw, be happy it works like it does. Find out what the "one owner" was running in it and keep doing that. I have a special place for the 031/032 as my dad ran them for decades heating our home. I could go grab his 031 right now off the shelf and cut all...

Is there a saw you never want to see again?

    Stihl 041's ridiculous intake stack.

    Sold Stihl 034 20” Bar

Nice saw, decent deal. I'll be watching this.

Want to Sell Stihl saws for sale

I have always sent money orders to people on here I feel good about. If you aren't interested in responding to my message you are probably right, these aren't the saws for me.

    MS660.........The saw from hell

Seriously? Still no compression or spark? If you are able to do all that work you are capable of figuring out what is wrong.

    Been working on this exhaust

That screen might just give you enough restriction to make it run!

    Been working on this exhaust

I'm guessing worse but sounds fun, especially in the garage!

    Is this saw worth it?

I'd nab it. Not my cup of tea to keep but sounds like a potential flip saw to build a little extra side cash and gain knowledge on saw repair as you go. Those have a ****** weak connecting rod so be careful with your piston stop if you are pulling the flywheel or clutch.

Good way for one man to check spark while pulling cord?

I grasp the plug in my fist and ground to the cylinder with my pinkie. Not the most technical but I've gotten good at telling if the spark is good based on the pain inflicted.

    Stihl 034 av super

A picture would help, but the way used prices are around me that sounds like an ok price, as long as it needs nothing. If it was $200 I would feel more comfortable about it.

50 Year Old Stihl First Start & Tune After Full Rebuild

I like the 031's, my dad ran 2 for literally decades. I have his and have done a few rebuilds on others. But why did it take ages for parts? From my experience there are gobs of parts available.

Have a chance to buy a locked up 028 WB is it worth it?

First project saw that I ended up with way more into than it was worth was an 028. I learned a lot though!

Can I be honest, selling saws here a PITA

I am a fan of paying with money orders from my bank and letting the seller receive it before he ships. Then again, there has been a lot of turn over on here and I don't know everyone anymore ...
