The powder I used I got from Eastwood. The color I can dig up but it will take a couple days as my stuff is in storage. It’s been a couple years since I did it but I was very happy with the color. I’ll look into it.

where the flywheel is furthest on the crank the crank measures 13.5 mm and is about 5 cm from case. That’s the inner mark on the crank. From the case to the threads is about 2.5 cm. I always press the bearings into the cases until they bottom out. Then I press the crank into one side, put the...

Has anyone tried these new aftermarket clutch's? They have no fiber on the shoes. Im running out of clutch shoes that are not cracked and chipped on the fiber lining. The 056 clutch's had no fiber on the stock shoes and they work just fine. Now thats more of a felling, bucking saw than the more...

Sometimes if you soak the gasket with just about anything you can carefully peel it off with a putty knife on the edges where it starts to loosen and reuse.

DND is correct. Remove the gasket. Here is a new WS-11.

I’ve had terrible luck with the dealers in my area. I know other parts of the country are much better. The rebuild kits I’ve ordered off eBay have worked and as I said had different diaphragms with a set that worked. Wish I could help more, cheers B

Sometimes the carb kits come with several different style diaphragms. You might be in luck and get the right one with your set. imho a “super” isn’t a super without a walbro carb. They are bigger and better than the tillies.

Agreed, the principal of the saw running is that it creates vacuum not pressure,.. If it does hold pressure but not vacuum then do as Pogo advises. I think I like oil better than soapy water though. Usually I watch the vacuum gauge dropping. If oil hits the spot where it’s leaking it will stop...

Far from an expert,.. lol, but thanks! As far as a leak down/pressure test, i dont know of a way to do it without the pump in place. You can do it without the clutch though. put some washers on the clutch shaft to hold the worm in place with clutch nut to hold. I block off intake and exhaust...

As far as the seals go, I like the double lip spring pressure seals. The cheap Chinese ones may work but why risk it. The green Stihl ones that are nos may be to old and hard.

I use the 51813. I like to use a lot so if I get some blobs inside the case it’s no big deal. The gas eats it away and it cleans up when you run it. If you re split the case you’ll see how well the gasket sealed as it gets destroyed upon splitting. It sticks very well.

That is true. I’ve used both and never had a problem with either. I think the important thing is a clean surface, proper torque of case screws and I like the permatex anaerobic gasket sealer.

Both excellent saws! Love the Mag for felling. Probably the most loved saw in the Pacific Northwest. So you got it right, top hole for spring and bb with bb on pump side. Pic shows the 2 styles. Second pic shows the case minus the two orings. Maybe the 3/8 oring you found slid off the plunger...

So the manual pump is in the oil resivoir side and the main pump in the front hole pto side. There’s two types of manual pumps. The earlier ones had the 4mm bb and spring, the later ones it was eliminated. I’m fairly certain that the spring slides into the case and the bb sits against the semi...
