Blown Stihl 036 with 1 hour on rebuild. What happened?

Be careful about replacing oem circlips in AM pistons. Sometimes the dimensions don't match. That's the problem with AM stuff...no consistency dimensionally or metallurgically. The best you.can do AM wise is use the entire "kit" and hope for the best outcome. Mixing and matching isn't often a...

    Pondering adding a 500i

3 saw plans are silly 30 saw plans work much better. Nobody has mentioned a polesaw or a 881 or a quality Japanese hand saw. All y'all is giving bad advice. 3 saw plans is fer Euro peoples. This is Murica. Go big or get a new phone. Dammit

What's the justification for not using 50:1 for milling?

Thank you... I have plenty of large cc saws that I refuse to mill with. Just too painful to watch and too expensive to repair-myself.

    MS201 TC rebuild

Yup...the few that I've replaced tested perfectly as well....continuity, ohms ect. Swaped it out and never looked back . I think the harness is about $20.....hardly worth the time to test it.

    MS201 TC rebuild

I'm with Wolfie on this so far...if you have a known new solenoid AND carby then get a new wiring harness. They get wonky with the slightest fray

    Grinding the rings

A very large amount of what ol Ironwhores puts up is straight click bait. There are a few ol husky's that run single ring but not too many for a reason. Reducing ring tension ? I thought that was called "break in " ?

Are full chisel chains sharper than their semi-chisel counterparts?

Always loved a good "chain" chat... What I find is that..... "It depends"...on what kinds of woods your intending to cut and what kinda crud is inbedded. Some chains rip through silver Marple yet struggle with Ash Takes a while to figure out what works best for your wood supply.

Rivet Spinner & Chain Breaker Brands?

The Herr replacement parts are fully interchangeable with stihls as they are produced by the same manufacturer. I have the Herr set and like them much. Bought an old used set cheap and replaced all the. Hardware

044 hybrid lacks balls in the cut

Make sure you're using "electrical solder" and not welding solder. You wanna start with solder diameter no greater than .020 and "twist" it if needed. If the solder is over .040 it just ain't gonna "squish" down enough to be accurate. Also have you tried the same bar and chain on another saw ...

Pole Saws - Stihl HT131 and 133 repair

once apart, that "driver" pops out from the inside with a long shaft or dowl. BTDT many a time

Pole Saws - Stihl HT131 and 133 repair

do your buddy a favor and take the shaft apart on the 131...it needs a thorough cleaning and re/degreasing way more often then told > the bearings ride on the aluminum shafts and they make "never seize" with the aluminum dust..it destroys the bearings and then the poles don't extend properly...

    Yet another trimmer thread.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the 4mix motors if you are a capable of adjusting the valves. If you aren't....consider batteries.

    Yet another trimmer thread.

+1 on the echo speed feed head. Game changer. I have one on a makita gas 4 stroke (true 4) and it's a joy. Thing cuts most tall grass at just above idle and is liquid smooth. Also have a 4mix stihl and a small redmax 21cc wand...like them all for different reasons. But if I only could have 1...
