    191T Stihl Oiler Replacment

I have a 191T top handle Stihl chainsaw. I have done all of the diagnostics on the saw (checked the vent, hose, drive gear etc etc) and the oiler itself isn't working on my 191T saw. I got as far as the pictures above show. I took the clutch off and chain brake off, and got down to where I...

    Stihl MS260 Pro Problem

I did make sure that the fuel filter and fuel line wasn't hung up on anything and is free to go to th e bottom of the tank. I kind of suspected that the fuel line had a tiny hole in it, that is why I put a new fuel line on it, and it is still acting the same.:bang:

    Stihl MS260 Pro Problem

I have a MS260 pro chainsaw. When the saw is about 1/2 a tank or less of fuel it will not stay running. I know the obvious answer, never let the tank get under 1/2 full but I would like to figure out what the problem with the saw is. When the saw is under 1/2 a tank it just dies out. It does...

    Chainsaw Oil

I use whatever 2 stroke oil is the cheapest. Just make sure you mix it with good gas, and don't let the mix get too old. I tend to mix it 50:1 or a bit heavier. I run whatever bar oil is on sale, the only thing I don't like is the "chain Pro" bar oil that is in the white jugs that are...

Tough Times- how slow is everyone in the PNW?

Everyone was saying this was going to be a good year(better then last year), but the latest reports I have heard say this year will be about the same as last year and next year (2012) will get better.

    Wrapping firewood

That and a little toro dingo (or the like) would be handy for getting wood into peoples back yard. Pallets couldn't get too heavy though or you would end up leaving ruts.

    Phones ringing..

I always look at it that at least the phones are ringing, nice to turn away customers but its hard when you are waiting for some. A few years ago I had a guy call me at 1030 at night, during a blizzard (new customer never seen the guy before), to tell me he had slid in the ditch down the...

    What gives?

I try to split every piece at least once, many times it will burn (under 3") without splitting but if it is split even once, it seems to burn better.

Do 2 circlips cost that much to ship?

I think that shipping was high, but these days not unusual. My local husky dealer charges 5 dollars for shipping on ALL SPECIAL ORDERS, and you still have to pick them up at his store. It doesn't matter if you order 1 thing or 2000 things their policy is to charge 5 dollars for all special...

Pro & cons to solid bar vs roller tip

The pro as said above, a solid nose will cut in dirtier conditions (there is no sprocket to bind up or fail with dirt). That being said I have cut in some pretty dirty conditions with a sprocket nose bar and very rarely have I had a sprocket fail, but if it does, they aren't that expensive or...

    long distance wood?

At times I have traveled 30ish miles one way, but I have a 20ft longx8ft widex4ft sided dump trailer that will hold a lot of wood.

Tired of winter and the bad weather.

I hear you. Most of my winter shop projects are done, all of my firewood is cut (in log form at least and brought up where I can work on it throughout the year) that I am going to be cutting for the year and I am starting to run out of funds too lol. I work for my local township full time in...

    Looking at a Husqvarna 372xp

The 372 is a great saw. If you can get it at a good price buy it, most likely it will hold its value and you can resell it for what you have in it.

oil mix......to do or not to do

As long as it says it is 2 stroke oil for air cooled engines go for it. I personally use Quaker state oil, because it is cheapest and I can get it in quart bottles. I don't think that Quaker state is the best by far but has always worked for me. I have never had an engine fail prematurely. It...
