Hello, It's been a long time since I've been on here. I don't have a wood burner as my insurance company didn't like the one I had. (didn't have the right sticker! UL!) Well, I've been on Facebook and have found a place that could use some help cutting wood. It's for a great cause! Vets, low...

    2013/2014 Firewood gathering

Well, I've been busy working full time. I work at a farm implement dealership. I work on anything from lawnmowers to $100,000+ tractors. My back is doing well. As you can see by my sig, the insurance co doesn't like my wood stove because it was probably made before UL existed. I showed it...

    920 jonsereds won't fire ?

If you have a timing light, you can mark TDC and check the condition of your coil. Did you check the compression with a gauge?

Thank you for your kind words. The bird is carved from Basswood.

I thought i was good at sharpening a chain

You want the highest part of the cutter to be the cutting edge. If you see "glint" on the top of the cutter near the cutting edge, that's the highest part and your cutting edge isn't touching the wood. Take a look at this pic. The cutter on the right you see a shiny edge. This needs to be...

    2013/2014 Firewood gathering

He flew beside me for about 1/2 mile which gave me time to dig my phone out. I sure wish I could have gotten a pic with him beside me. I was hoping he was going to roost in a near by tree. Nope, he had other plans. I saw a flock of swans the other day and was too slow on the draw. They...

    Happy surprise

That dead standing Elm is a life saver! I have some in my basement too. The first wood I found I believe was Basswood. I've been mixing it in with Elm and Oak to get rid of it. It doesn't burn very well. Looks like you're just about in my backyard. Well with in 20-30 miles. LoL!

Don't forget the muffler bearings! They're the greatest reason why an engine will not idle! :D
