    Stihl USG

I learned how to sharpen on this machine. Once you get your cadence down you will fly through a normal chain. I would turn the wheel over every chain to keep it somewhat true. Now I have one of those harbor freight sharpeners at my house and it is sloppy!! Got spoiled working in a stihl shopQ

How much wood do you burn?

2300 sq ft 1970's modular with additions. Questionable insulation, doors and windows. We burn 3 to 4 chords of mostly lodge pole in a Blaze King Princess. It took the gas company 2 months before they came to check the meter as the previous owners were spending $200 to $500 in natural gas and...

    Blaze King "thermometer"

the sweet spot is somewhere right there in the middle. When it drops below 0 its putting out heat, but my house is stuck at 60. Time to start changing windows and doors!!

    New BK owner

After getting mine up to the active zone, I set it somewhere in the middle. After that it is dependent on how high I turn the fan on to how high the needle goes up on the dial. Fan on high it stays about half way on the dial. Half fan to no fan raises the heat into the higher ranges of the...

    Ms280 Clutch change

I read through the post and missed where you said it had stopped turning. I have pulled some pretty dirty saws apart here in the last three months and even though I had to use some tools to get the clutch drum off, it never turned the chain. That is why I was suggesting a lean condition. So I...

    Ms280 Clutch change

If the chain is still spinning at a high speed after you let go of the throttle, you have a lean condition. Either you need the carburetor adjusted or you have a leak somewhere. Get this fixed now, before you cut again or you will have a dead saw very soon.

    Husqvarna 41

The bailey's page is where I ended up. I just needed to type correctly. We are going from a 18" .325, .058 to a .325, .050. Hopefully I can teach the owner proper chain tension and a sharp chain will save him a lot of money in the future!!

    Husqvarna 41

I am attempting to replace a bar on a Husky 41 which has a p/n 530-0446600. Everywhere I look it says no longer available. Does anybody know of a alternate part number or Oregon part number? Thanks , Duane

    Air Force MAFFS System

For 18 of my 24 years as a Air Force aircraft maintainer, I wore the mustache with pride, no matter how bad it looked!! Kind of miss those dumb ass load masters, kind of.

    Joined the BK Club

I managed to role mine off the trailer right into the house with a heavy duty aluminum hand cart. Next it was up onto I guess you would call it a banister. Wife was pretty worried she was going to have to help but I got lucky and it all fell into place. If you don't have stairs it should be...

King or Princess? (I mean Blaze king stoves)

I have tried all kinds of things. My pipe set up is 3 ft from stove to 90 degree elbow to 24 inches pipe ending in a 20 something ft cinderblock clay lined chimney. I play the game every morning/evening as it all depends on what is happening. Wind/breeze from north, south, east or west? To many...

King or Princess? (I mean Blaze king stoves)

I do bypass thing. Actually I leave it open for minutes trying to get a good draft going. 50-50 on wether it works or not. I am also trying to keep 25 feet of cinderblock and clay tile warm enough which is the hard part!

King or Princess? (I mean Blaze king stoves)

I am on one month with the princess. I am burning lodge pole pine and get 12+ hour burn time when the temp is above 20. Below 20, I have very little coals left to get the fire started again, but it starts. Drafty weird house stays above 70 when it is above 20 outside, but dips to 67 when it...

How Much Wood Have You used

2/3 cord. started first of november with a glorified barrel stove and three weeks ago started using a blaze king princess. Wood consumption down quite a bit and a warm house 24/7.

    Flooded firewood

I didn't really worry about the pallets. As long as the held the weight of the wood I was good. If not they became fir pit wood and I would find another. Pallets usually lasted 3 years under the tarp. When I left washington this last summer the pallets were all good with no rot. So maybe if you...

    Flooded firewood

I lived in Graham for 11 years and did the tarp thing for 5. During the rainy season, Aug-Jun, I would basically have pallets with the wood stacked on and then I would make a tent so air could get in. After I built a wood shed life was much better. 4 cords with my riding lawn mower all dry...

King or Princess? (I mean Blaze king stoves)

Well I went to Missoula today and purchased a princess ultra with some new single wall pipe and was able to upgrade the chainsaw to a husky 455. All under $3100. Got it home and fired it up on the back of my trailer. Two hours later it started to rain and the wind started blowing so I decided...

King or Princess? (I mean Blaze king stoves)

I will be heading down to a dealer approximately 50 miles away and see what the damage will be. One way or the other I will be leaving with a blaze king. I have a dealer 10 miles down the road but he was $500 more to purchase from. I asked if that was the delivered and set up price and he said...

King or Princess? (I mean Blaze king stoves)

Curious how the princess is working for your old house. My house is a 1971 with and addition added sometime in the 80's. Lots of aluminum double pain cold windows and a few single pain with storm windows. Just trying to figure out if I should jump to a king or stay with a princess. Duane
