    Central boiler 6048

I have their older version. Did the temp ramp up/down slowly? Mine acted weird on temps and ended up being loose wire on the board. I tightened them all up and it went away. You can turn it off and on and if the temp varies on what it shows, that may be the issue. Other thing could be air leak...

I'm not really following what you mean by "under the post". If you are referring to the stand under the wedge, just cut the angle iron to fit around it the best you can and fill weld around the cut. The box for the axle you can just use 2 pieces to get around that, just weld that in on the ends...

Alignment is the key along having them set right. I've repaired some where people force them together too much as well.

I see the same thing. Just was trying to give him an option to have a fighting chance not to arch it. Box thickness looks to be 1/4" or less to me. I like the box on box if meaty enough as that is how I went with mine and have had no issues in over 300 cord. I just see a lot of weakness with...

"It needs to be run as far as you can under your wedge and forward to your cylinder mount."

Under your main box beam I would add this type of brace. You can either use 2 pieces of flat strap and welded together or a premade piece of heavy angle iron. Angle iron is easier and stronger. It needs to be run as far as you can under your wedge and forward to your cylinder mount. Doesn't look...

That will help the wedges strength but not the beam between the wedge and your cylinder mount. The higher your wedge is, the more leverage you have against the beam when the hard spot(Like a knot) is at the top of the wedge. You are in a cat and mouse game of chasing the weak link. All I'm...

In my opinion the box beam thickness is pretty thin in wall thickness. I'm running a 1/2" thick wall thickness on the box with 1/2" plates on both sides, running the full length. It will even spring some on a stall. The top plate you will not equal near the strength as steel on the sides of the...

Seems odd to me. All I have ever gotten have had the set screw threads there. I wouldn't think they would be hardened so if the wrong part was ordered, you "should" be able to drill and tap. Hopefully they will take care of you if their fault. Do be careful when you get it going as with a high...

Need some help with an 026 Pro

I've had quite a few saws that would idle but when throttle applied they would die off or do nothing. If I knew the carb was good, almost every time it was a failing or weak coil/condensor. Get a solid state and dump the points and condensor would be my suggestion.

    Log splitter troubleshooting help

Repacking seals isn't too bad to do. Look on youtube for some videos of the style you have. With age, lots of them go out. Only bad thing to look for is to make sure no one had dented the tube. No real fixing that issue without replacing.

Limiting Cylinder Stroke on Log Splitter

Like the above Post, I use a steel stop on the slide. I have a 5 inch cylinder/2 12" rod and used a Box on box design on mine so I did a stop in under the beam. Keeps it simple. I have a 30 inch stroke and normal stuff is cut 22 - 24 inches. I wanted the capability to quick change for any...

The bigger cyclinder you go, the slower the speed so keep that in mind if you have the pump already. More GPM start increasing fluid temps so you have to think about cooling and sweep 90 fittings/straight line lay out. 4 inch will do a lot and may keep the speed you are looking for. Highly...

Government reaching to govern wood burning consumers

Several years ago I decided to try to get a qoute from another insurance company with a combined policy to save some money. Agent came out, took measurements/pictures and said they could do a lot better than what I was currently paying. He then send it in to corporate for final approval and...

Government reaching to govern wood burning consumers

The same government that wants us to be green and save the planet, literally creates wastelands across the globe. How about telling me the Carbon footprint in Ukraine. I guess electric tanks would help right?

Problem with the 6 inch is speed. You'd want at least a 28GPM and run a bypass. Then coolers some into play as well. There is the cool factor but for 95% of what we do it isn't needed unless you have a 6 way plus.

That's why it hard to say what is "best". Everyones situation is different. If I was selling, production or having logs on site, then a processor or push through would be best. I cut on site and mostly on our land. When dealing with large stuff I can not lift, I buck up the log and back down the...

FYI : I used a 6 x 8 Box beam with 1/2" walls. added 1/2" x 5" plates on both sides. I went with a box on a box for pusher. From working/repairing splitters, this will last a lot longer and the more length the better as you have less chance of side twist. I went with 16 inches on mine. I will...

Are your fluid temps high? That's a lot of fluid going through hard 90's. Generally you want a cylinder with the ports up so you can make long sweeps to avoid some of that. With a 5 inch cylinder and the frame used I think you may have issues with tougher stuff. Take it slow and avoid nasty...

I'd suggest staying away from knotty stuff or rounds with angled cuts on the pusher side. The pusher block looks a little light to take abuse.
