The bars are okay, but the Forester chain (marked "C1" on the drive links) is rather soft and doesn't hold an edge like the better chains. One of the loggers gave me a roll of full chisel because he disliked it so much. It also breaks too easy, the rivets pop through with very little effort...

Didn't take my advice, eh? Using Golf pistons is like playing Russian roulette. I've had plenty of experience with them and I've actually had at least two bad Golf 028 super pistons... They have all kinds of issues; anywhere from circlip grooves machined too deeply, ring locating pins either...

The John Deere 80EV is equivalent to the Echo 750EVL and the EVL stands for "Electronic Vibration Less".

The 261 clutch will work. It just has two shoes rather than three, making it look a bit different. There have been guys who souped up their 261's to a 262, and the existing two shoe clutch has been stated to handle the extra horsepower. I'll bet it would wear faster than a three shoe clutch...

Meteor makes a nice one for the 288. You can find 'em on ebay.

I've done it many times with Husqvarna 372 cases with no issues, but with some Stihl cases the mating surfaces for the cylinder deck wont line up properly.

Meteor makes a piston for the 028 super. I'd stay with either meteor or oem. I've seen plenty of bum am 028 pistons...
