    Stihl Aftermarket Parts Review

Hyway P&c and gaskets were solid Huztl carbs for shindiawa & Echo trimmers, stihl saws, ran fine, but still under a year. Huztl starter cover, suprised how well made Huztl lines, filters and primers fine Huztl air filters, fitment problems with OEM cover Chain brake OK, clutch fit, no run time...

    Buyer Beware

The guy probably got lazy with a pic and is caught in a lie. I make, and have made, high vlolume purchases of parts, and equipment on EBAY. Rarely a wrinkle in the transaction, even on titled ATV'S. I hate to see EBAY process feared and derided. It is a convenience for me in restoring old...

How Short of a Life Span Have You Seen On a Sparkplug

Agree on plug "brand" Run the right heat range plug with a tuned carb. I had wear on my truck plugs at 100+K, but in OPE? I have read of a benefit of fine wire plugs for old ignition systems, but not a performance increase. Saying all this I still buy a 5$ finewire precious metal plug...

Picked up a Ryobi 18" 15019 for $75 with Warranty

Old Thread, but for goofing around I just modded a $60 ebay Ryobi 46 cc. It had a dirty carb, and heavy carbon caked on the piston crown and top of the cylinder. No scoring or transfer and Cleaned up well Widened the ports 6mm, I do not mess with timing as much as Chris-PA other than...

How To Remove Aluminum Transfer Without Acid

Being the laziest guy in the room usually leads me to quick and easy and maybe sloppy solutions to get stuff done. This seems so obvious, I can't believe the hours I spent playing with oven cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner and wet sanding my finger tips off. Why did you hold out on us so long...

Who here bought saws from Roger Collins back in Feb?

Go Dogs Go was an easier read...but not as thought provoking.

    homemade wedges

Shave or mangle would be more accurate. 3/8 to edge, 8inches, tboth sides then cut at 10 inches. Sorry wedge, keeps saw bar from pinching in bigger cuts. Cheap, easy and disposable...too often loseable.. We do limited felling, but have jammed them in on drops. Your question does make me think...

Anybody try clear polyurthane to protect paint?

The radio control guys do this to protect paint from fuel damage. I have been using TSC implement paint and some clear acrylic, but still have some softening from fuel. I may give it a shot and report back. Thanks for any input

    Free Craftsman 16" chainsaw

Chris, I guess I am more of a results guy than a rule guy. If the mandate results in negative returns, regardless of fault, it seems shortsighted to me. As they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Landfills full of disposable plastic saws seems a bigger waste of resources. Oh...

Go easy on me but I have a stupid porting question.....

Yes I have searched, I have been stuck at work for 10 hours and had to do something:rolleyes:..... I enjoy restoring oldies more, but have widened ports, milled bases, cleaned transfers... all mild stuff. .....But I got the urge to play with a spare cylinder. Are ports always wider at the Carb...

    Mini Mac 6 inquiries

Is there an easy way to hook up that throttle linkage and stuff it back in the box? Admittedly, I am not the shiniest penny in the jar......but I have had several of these apart and it took some blue language to get them back together. To the OP, it may not be valuable, but you have a rare...

Canned fuel or ethanol free gas?

Anyone try "Ethanol Shield"? I am running Red Armor in 93 BP Octane, then dumping/running my saws dry. It would be nice to just blow the dust off them and put them on the shelf once in a while....I am so uptight about equipment I am not sure I could do it:oops:

Anyone Know Anything About Lawn Boy Lawnmowers?

Is that an F series? white or black/gray coil? One is closed the other open. . Not sure if they're hot, I am not smart enough to resistance test, but I will mail it if there is a chance it works. I have one of each. Not sure the year of the white one, the dark one is off a mid 80's 8243. At...

Anyone Know Anything About Lawn Boy Lawnmowers?

Pioneerguy has it right. Notorious for float problem. Depending on year, it may be cork. Funny you bring this up, I had a lawn boy weekend getting some of mine roaring.
