    it is time for rings in the old 028 super @ 90 psi (orginal purchaser) and was wonder if there are any worthwhile mods that should/could be done at the same time. mild port - widen exhaust port, base gasket? muffler was done and seals were replaced recently. thanks for your help and suggestions

    for firewood I drop, cut, and split in the winter. stacked as soon as possible. it is burnable the next winter but I'm usually a year or two ahead

    I understand the rpm increases as the mixture leans out. can't adjust the carb lean enough to get the rpm where they should be. that is the problem as it appears to me. why it appears to be rich? that is the question or problem

    if the problem is fuel delivery as in vent, fuel line and filter, why would the saw run better/higher rpm as it runs out of fuel?

    have a moderately used 261, regular carb that does not want to rev above 9000. when it started to run run out of fuel it when up to about 13,000 for a second or two before dying. new plug, tried removing the air filter - no change. removed carb and did a light spray with cleaner, no change...

    so the clutch is left hand thread, thanks for the tips. can the seals usually be pried out or is it a screw into the seal to pull on? or some other trick?

    have no spark or sometimes weak spark on an 028 that has not run in a couple of years - was running strong when it ran last. what is a good source for a 028 coil for the electronic ignition? thanks
