City wants to cut down my California Live Oak...Help Needed!!

You would think the city would have more important issues to address than driving around looking for trees to remove, good luck, hope you get to keep it.

What was the first year that chain brakes were required by law in USA ?

You can pretty much trace all problems, safety junk, etc., to the Lawyers, OSHA and the EPA.

    Ford 8N

Ours was always prone to having brake issues. The seals leaked and got oil on the pads. Never could fix the problem. But they will run forever. Sold mine to a friend years ago, still running fine, and starts if you just think about it.

Do you still have the 1st chainsaw that you ran?

Not the first saw, but the first one I went into the firewood business with. 041, and it still cuts well. Sometimes I use it just to hear it idle, lol.

12 volt dremel type sharpeners worth it or waste ? Best Brand ?

I have both the Dremel and Stihl, but I don't use them, still like hand filing. I feel I can control it much better, one slip with the 12v grinder and you can wreck a tooth real quick. And I didn't like the stones wearing down fast. I am sure some folks do real well with them tho. I have on...

What takes pine tree sap off a chainsaw??

I have no experience with Pine, but I had to chunk a bar and chain after cutting Mimosa trees, totally ruined them. I tried everything, even cutting a bunch of oak, nothing worked. It was so bad the chain would hardly turn on the bar. That stuff hardened like epoxy. No big loss, I was using the...

Northstar VS Huskee.Which way would you go?

I have had no problems with my NS 30 ton, and the little Honda motor starts one pull even after sittting all summer. Only drawback I have is the somewhat slow cycle time, but I work by myself, so it works ok, I couldn't go any faster anyway. But it has split everything I put in it, and I split a...

gas not older than 3 weeks for my husky

I agree with Steve. Unless it smells bad, use it. I like ethanol, it gives us something to discuss besides oil mix ratios and octane ratings.:)

    Tornado trees

I was out yeaterday doing clean up work. Yeah, it's a mess, gotta go slow and look things over real good before wading in. The hardest thing for me is clearing out the big limbs that are broke off and hanging up in the tops of the trees. Gotta get them down too, or one day they will decide to...

    More rain this weekend

No rain here, lol, possibly today they say, but who knows? I will agree on the longer days and weeks, never enough time. I have a trailer I have been on for 3 weeks, have it tacked up and ready to weld it out, just can't get enough time to finish it.
