    Shop Porch Cover addition...

NIce. I've used penofin before as well on redwood and cedar decks it sure is pretty when you apply it to nicely planed or sanded wood, it almost glows afterwards ;).

    Shop Porch Cover addition...

Thats a good idea with the 1x12 added to the front. If it does start to sag you can jack er up and add a post and you should be fine (I can't quite tell from the pics, but it looks like you have a lil sag already, but it could be camera angle). Some knee braces might help too. Your dead load...

    Shop Porch Cover addition...

Is that a GPI65 I beam (11 7/8)? It looks way to light to me to handle any kind of a snow load.. Who sized it? The guy at the lumber yard from the Ibeam joist book? If so you probably need one every 24" not just one to hold the whole shebang up.. and why didn't you set the rafter on top of it...

Milling saves me more money than I thought...

Don't buy the wet ones, buy the straight dryer boards, they tend to stay that way. Wet wood at the yard from the middle of the unit will look straight when you buy it, but literally within a few days will warp, always been that way.. Cull wood always ends up on the top of the stack, been that...

    Keep your family safe?

Well a bit of reality.. I would imagine this pic came from California where most counties and fire districts have in the last few years upped the defensible wildfire space from 30 feet to 100 feet, which means all non green brush should be cleared, all dry weeds/grass mowed, and trees limbed up...

    Husky 357xp scored!

http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=120927&highlight=flange The post with a bunch of parts. I had the newer parts with the metal clip, so all I ordered was the carb. It came with limiter tabs in place, but I took those off before I put it on ;). I didn't move it much from the...

    Husky 357xp scored!

Well after I got this all together and made a few cuts it exhibited all the symtoms of a bad warlboro carb, ie. dying after the cut, tried to tune it out, but wasn't having any luck. So I ordered the Zama carb from Baileys and put it in today. Works like a dream now. All finished finally...

    Oak log

Naw, its a little section of oak branch that was the right size, theres some other random debris cut to fit on the other side also, then theres a hole drilled in the middle of the I beam that I run a lag screw thru into the top of the log and it compresses the I-beam onto the spacers so they...

    Oak log

Check out this soft spot. A bit of water in it eh? This is what a gallon of mix got me

    Oak log

This oak blew over a few years back, I'm getting around to milling it. 25" on the big end, 23" on the small, 9 feet long. I only had a few hours to work on it, so I only took a gallon of mix with me. This is how far I got :). Pics: continued...

    I snapped a chain

Its deliberate, not a bad batch, its total junk. It actually cuts pretty good if you keep it sharp and doesn't dull really fast, but the pins and straps are super weak, snap really easy.

    I snapped a chain

skimmed this thread, I know i'm weighing in late. PowerCare from HD is junk. It will only take about 2 horse. I've snapped a couple. On a 2.5 horse saw, never even got to sharpen it before it snapped. This is not in any way the users fault or some problem with his saw. Powercare...

    Will a Husky 357 (mild port) pull a 9pin .325?

I have a Husky 357 with no bar and chain, it has the large mount rim drive on it with a 7 pin .375 sprocket. I have several small mount husky .325 tip bars, so I was thinking of converting this saw to .325 rim sproket, however, I can only seem to find a large mount rim sprocket in 9 pin .325...

    Husky 357xp scored!

Well I gave it a mild port job. Didn't touch transfers, took maybe 1.5-2mm off of each side of intake and exhaust ports. Didn't raise or lower intake or exhaust. Left squish stock. Its back together and sounds pretty good, but don't have a bar and chain yet, so only idle'd it so far with a...

    How many inches per HP?

How come about 20 years ago the Fosters in the US came from Austraila in a big steel can. Now its in an aluminum can and at first it was brewed in canada, but now they brew it here in the US. It tasted better in the steel cans from Austraila.. ;(
