    365 special or 371XP

That would work for me but I doubt the guy would go for that. I really wanted a 372 non x-torq. So maybe I should just hold out for that. I’m looking to trade a really clean 262XP, KS non decomp cyl and HDA87 carb. Would my 262 for a 372/2171 be a fair trade? Or am I short?

? I haven’t made up my mind. How was I arguing? I’m just trying to weigh the pros and cons to each

Thanks, that helps. Kinda the way I was leaning

    365 special or 371XP

So really no reason not to go with the 371? I thought I read here somewhere the 365 had a broader more user friendly power band, maybe better for falling?

    365 special or 371XP

I may have the opportunity to Trade a saw for a 371 or a 365 special. If condition is similar which would you go with and why, I’m just a firewood cutter. I already have a 2159 Jonsered and a 024 Stihl. I would like to add a larger saw with a 24-28” bar for the occasionally larger stuff. My Dad...

I know you said 372, but how about a very nice early 262 XP with K&S cyl and HDA 87 carb

    McCulloch Chain Saws

I had a really clean 10/10. A young guy at work just purchased some property a few years ago and needed a chainsaw but didn’t have any money so I gave it to him. I couldn’t hack running that 10/10 because of the vibration. My 700 doesn’t seem to vibrate near as much as the 10/10, not sure why or...

    McCulloch Chain Saws

I wanted to thank Knightmax. I got the coil I ordered from him and got it installed in my Pro Mac 700. Fired up on second pull. Got the carb adjusted and just got back in from cutting a small load of firewood. Runs great, starts on first or second pull hot or cold.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Thanks, I took a small drill bit and clamped it a vise grip and slowly worked it and alternately blew out the pieces of carbon with compressed air after every couple turns,I would never have thought carbon would be that hard

    McCulloch Chain Saws

I’ve got a PM 700 I got from my Dad a few years ago I’m trying to get going, currently have a coil coming from knightmax. Another thing I’m trying to figure out is the decompression, the passage in the head seems to be plugged. I’ve got the little Allen screw out on the head and can’t get any...

Hello I’m wondering if anyone could help me out, I’m looking for a part number, or where to source a coil for a pro Mac 700. Thanks, Roy

Trying to like my new "to me" Husqvarna 262XP

I finally got a chance to run the 262 with the handle wrapped, we got about 3 feet of snow out in the woods so It’s been a struggle to get out cutting firewood. I think I’m going to like it though

262xp base gasket and ring part numbers

Actually I think that is the correct gasket, I looked up the gasket for a 261 and it’s shows a different part # so that makes sense, as I think the 261 was a retuned version of the 262

262xp base gasket and ring part numbers

Thanks, that’s kind of what I was coming up with sites only showing 1 part#. Maybe it is the correct one. I think maybe the 261 took the thicker gasket. Maybe I’ll order 1 if it’s wrong I could always measure the original and make one, check squish when I’m done

262xp base gasket and ring part numbers

Hello, I did a search and couldn’t find the answer, does anyone know the part numbers for the cylinder base gasket for a Husky 262 xp. I know I read here there was 2 gaskets available with one being thinner. Also oe part # for a ring thanks.

Trying to like my new "to me" Husqvarna 262XP

Thanks again for all the suggestions on wrapping the handle. I ended up going with bicycle bar tape. I considered the heat shrink and may go that route if this doesn’t hold up, but didn’t know if I wanted anything permanent. I’ve haven’t run it with the tape yet but it feels really nice, it’s...

    Husqvarna 359, Jonsered 2159 question

Ok thanks, I’ll probably just leave it alone. Last winter I dropped a tree on my 359 and broke the case, some plastic, bent the handle. I was looking for another 359 but ran into a pretty good deal on a 2159. I prefer the angled handle on the 359, if it was an easy swap I would buy a 359 handle...

    Husqvarna 359, Jonsered 2159 question

Will the handle bar for a 359 fit on a 2159, any clearance issues with the chain brake? Thanks, Roy
