    Your # 1 frankensaw

Ok guys don't laugh but this is a short tale of my beloved Homelite Super 2. When my maternal grandfather died I ended up with his trusty old Super 2. It still ran but was pretty beat so I just kinda shelved it. About 5 years later my paternal grandfather passed away and low and behold I ended...

Stihl MS 261 VS Husqvarna 346 XP VS Dolmar PS 5105

Get some more fuel through that 346. I still has some "waking up" to do. Mine took around 8-10 tanks to really come alive. Congrats on a really fine saw purchace!

    new 346xp tips over easy

Lighten up all you Alice's! I spent the whole day in the woods today with my 346 and it never tipped over once. I just plopped it in the snow and there it sat. Imagine that!!! I didn't even have to go to college to figure out how to set a saw down.:hmm3grin2orange:

Stihl MS 261 VS Husqvarna 346 XP VS Dolmar PS 5105

Just wanted to say im my opinion you can not go wrong with the 346xp. It's flat out as reliable a saw as you can get. I had an ms260 that was very finicky. Good saw but was, well, finicky!! Can't speak for the Dolmar. Never run one. As for the 261,never run that either. Probably will be a good...

This Is About Chainsaws, I Promise

I just bought a 75,000/125'000 btu propane heater (Mr. Heater) for my 24 by 30ft. garage. (salamander type) It will heat my garage in about 15 minutes on low. No ceiling, no insulation. Bought it from Tractor Supply as well. It is loud but no louder than a kerosene and it doesn't smell nearly as...

    ms260 has more power than 346xpne... ?

I've owned both the 260pro and now the 346xp. For two saws in the same class(cc's) the xp just dominates the 260 in every category except for weight and that's minimal when comparing saws that are both very light. For the firewood cutting that I do, the 346 is much more productive.

    New 346xp Did I make a mistake?

I have a 372 which is actually newer then my 346. That said, I ALWAYS pick up the 346 first. Just love that saw! (As do my Stihl lovin buddies!) Always asking to run it!

Hardest Timber you cut with your saw?

I'll cast my vote for Ironwood. Especially in the dead of a cold winter up here. Frozen wood is sooo much harder to cut!

    261 vs 346

    261 vs 346

I just tend to use common sense!!!;)

    261 vs 346

Yep, come back in a couple years and ask this question. Let's let the 261 get some time under it's belt before we prematurely praise it as the best 50cc saw. After all that has been one of the knocks on the 346(from the Stihl heads) when comparing the 260 vs. 346 . I just have to...
