    Nik's Poulan Thread

Hey guys, it has been a LONG time since i was on here. I was recently handed a poulan 48, sand-cast saw. Anyone have an idea of what bar fits this monster?, or what can be made to work? This will not be a regular use saw, mainly for GTG's etc, so it it is not a perfect fit, no biggie.

    Poulan 2000 kill switch

I have,on my bench, a Poulan 2000 top-handle.....with a very strange issue. It runs awesome, starts on the 3rd or 4th pull....but will not shut off by the switch. For reference, this saw has the little "flip paddle" wire type switch, that sets under the carb box. I have checked the...

    2014 Virginia GTG?

Just wondering if a GTG was in the works. Have not seen or heard anything yet, and was a bit curious as to if I need to start prepping my P.O.S's for a day of flogging..lol

    390xp carnage

Off Topic: Anytime a Ford fanboy talks trash about a Duramax, or Cummins, Just remind them of the 6.0 and 6.4 powerstroke. That usually shuts them right up.....lol On Topic: I wonder if that kind of damage could be from the piston" tightening up" in the bore, on it's way to a...

    pioneer p-20

The "High" side is fixed on that saw. By "fixed", i mean non-adjustable. You only have a low side, and idle adjustment. Not to worry, as the ones I have seen, seem to be plenty rich on the top-end anyway. The two I have, certainly are. I run my two on 32:1 Amsoil Sabre, and they love it. They...

Amazingly enough, the Vile-Thing showed no signs of abnormal, or accelerated wear. Pretty good, considering the thrashing it took at HHF. Even the ring looked great...so back together she goes....this time with a new pipe.

    What's on your bench? 05-12-2013

A ported and piped wildthing A.K.A "Vile-Thing". It is getting a full inspection after the Halifax Heritage Festival. Amazing how strong these things are, I was not gentle with it, and neither were the 4 others that ran it.

Internal photos of the Vile-Thing These are some shots i took, while inspecting the Vile-Thing, for unusual wear, after the HHF, Sorry, they were taken on my phone, Which is a gamble..lol. I tried to get clear shots of the "bypasses" around the main bearings, leading up the transfers...

Will be pulling the "Vile-Thing" down this week, to monitor wear. I believe it was Jusin Cain, that asked about internal pictures, i will get some while I have it torn down. May splurge, and treat it to a new ring...lol

Glad you had a great time....I personally, had fun, watching the look on Your, Dave, And Carguy's faces after you all ran the "Vile-Thing"...especially when you all realized what chain it was toting. Should have taken a pic of each of your reactions, they were worth the effort i put into that...

Had an awesome time yesterday. The HHF is definitely on the " must attend" list. Big thanks to Dean, for letting my dad and I run his DA-211. And what happened to the Piped saw that LP had there? It was running for a bit....and then i saw it partially disassembled in the back of his...

Well, i WAS going to btig the 'improved" piped poulan.....but it only has a wimpy 16 iinch bar..LOL. I guess there will be something small enough for me t give it a break-in run. Now....is it "Broke-in"....or broken....:msp_unsure: I was handed a 2375 wildthing, by Earnie, at the GTG, and...

    Pioneer chainsaws

OK, this may be a stupid question, but here goes. I recently picked up a Pioneer 650, that needed a total fuel system overhaul. Got the carb cleaned, and kitted. My question is, What goes in the glass bowl? The was what looked like a piece of window screen, rolled up, and stuffed into...
