    Midwest GTG March 12th 2011

I'll come up on saturday, just maybe I can sneak away of friday night. I have no time for extra projects anymore. Last year I bought a project Husky 288 and some new parts for it. Cyl is good and it had 165 psi compression, it just needs to be put togather and the carb has a governer ball...

well I just may need to find some gas and sharpen a chain. Don't know if I've ran a saw since last years GTG. what's this meeting Fri night at T-Dawgs? I just may need to venture out. What should I bring? Cheap booze, suppressed weapons, women with low self esteem and a few saws...

I'll try to come up allong with my knucklehead entourage. Just maybe I won't get beat with my own saws, now to find them scattered around this farm, that shead, loaned out to friends is going to be a challenge.

    first milling this week

I milled some toningt before dark, I just sharpened my full comp chisel chain to 25 deg. and gave it a try. Cutting roughly 26" of wet fresh cut red oak it cuts roughly 1 ft a minute, or an inch every 5 seconds. It's easy to overload the powerhead with the 7 tooth sprocket, I see where a 120cc...

    first milling this week

I just purchased a new GB double ended bar mill and 44" rail kit. My longest bar is 36" so I drilled a hole in the end a safe distance behind the sprocket, as close as I dare go to the sprocket and berring. Drilled a hole in the end of the mill as far inside ( just inside of the powerhead...

    066,ms660 refurb.......

one other thing I have to take into account is that I have more work than I can get done, I pay help. Time I spend working on the saw is time I should be working on my own equipment or customer equipment and in turn hire less help. The true cost of my saw projects......... I may as well buy...

    066,ms660 refurb.......

to fix it right, you likely will have more in it than a new one. That's just the way it goes. That said, you're better off to buy a good running one that's in nice shape Here's an example of a project I have, it's a mod project and I really don't care what I have in it. Project saw $300...

    got a few piston/cyl questions

good projects to learn on, the connection rod should slide side to side when you try to slide it on the crank pin, grabbing near the crankpin. When you grab the top and try to tip or rock it side to side there will be some movement, but there shouldn't be much. It's nice to have others to...

    Swap meet...

I've got an 066 Magnum saw to trade. Fat recoil cover, decomp, you fella's know the drill. Good strong running saw, not the best looking rig but not the worst. 165 PSI comp on my gauge (my new 660 had 150 after a few tanks of gas through it on the same gauge). Good strong running old saw...

I can't wait to zip tie the throttle open on a running Poulan Wild Thing and then blast it with the 50, a good API (armor piercing incinderary) round should give a good flash and lite the gas tank when vaporized:chainsawguy:

    Volks-man gotta ? for ya

of course he has seen the cylinder, he has seen the picture of it before he has posted a response........that's the question in the first place. I've seen the cylinder before, it's in the first post of the thread, now I'm posting a response. Silly question for silly boys, I've been sittin...

    WI/MN/IA GTG March 13th 2010

thor, on the msp craigslist there is a 066 in Hastings for $450, I sold the fella the saw, it's a pretty decent old 066 flat top, nice case, tank etc. It's got a new aftermarket P&C from Baileys (on when I got it, not running). I pulled a few things apart on it and gave it a clean bill of...

    MS660 Exhaust Opening Observation

My 660 has a dual port muffler, the original side port opened up to about a .750 square and a port added to the other side of the muffler a little larger yet, it runs like it should, or at least close to it anyway. The exhaust duration is pretty long in some of the newer saws (660), that...
