    Jonsered Chainsaws

I have a Lil' Jon too.......surprisingly strong cutter for it's size......however it's the nastiest sounding saw in the herd....which is saying something!!! You cannot run it withour ear protection......not an option......it is to noise what a SXL is to vibration!!!!

It would depend on how long a bar you intend on running and if you intended on cutting with the entire length of the bar mostly. In other words if you were running more than a 24" bar I'd likely go with the 7 pin but if you were to run an 18" or 20" I'd go with the 8 pin. It probably wouldn't...

Sure is quiet in here....do I need to start a fight?

We were fortunate...a friend gave us a few "eclipse kits" with glasses and cellphone filters that came with adhesive velcro fasteners to hold he filter on the phone. Also an app you could download to adjust your phone camera automatically. Really needed the filter as here is a pic taken the...

Sure is quiet in here....do I need to start a fight?

I did the same thing but as it reached totality i started getting flashed so had to give it up and go with the glasses. At totality you could watch it with the naked eye....that was very cool.

Sure is quiet in here....do I need to start a fight?

So was up to Uncle Bob's and was tuning his Husky 350 that I turned into a 353 a couple years ago but had to stop and shut it off as it was getting dark.....

Replace the AV mount is the only real way. If for display only you could probably drill and put a self threading screw with a washer on the backside of the broken mount or similar.

Shop wants to replace carburetor--is it necessary?

True about the throttle plate and this can be caused by something as simple as the plate not being centered properly in the bore when the screw is tightened up and binding on one side or the other of the bore.

Shop wants to replace carburetor--is it necessary?

A couple years ago I suddenly found myself in need of carb kit (RK 23 HS) and found my stock was depleted. I usually keep at least a half dozen in stock but the last got used before I could re-order so I was in a bind and bit the bullet and drove 15 miles to the local Stihl dealer and paid the...

    630 super 2 upgrade or 162se?

The 630 Super II is far and above the 162 though the 162 is its direct ancestor. Numerous upgrades to the Super II as it is the apex of the 48 mm line in this family, orange or red. A 630 Super is a great saw but the Super II just that much better. I wouldn’t mess with that saw except maybe a...

    Jonsered Chainsaws

Good to know and that is a long ship!! I expect you're right about shipping cost especially with a B&C. The 751 is surprisingly light for such an old 75CC saw. Generally we think of older saws as heavy but I don't think the 751 is nearly as heavy as, say an 80/801/90. Really quite a compact...

    Jonsered Chainsaws

You don't see these come up very often......see a few 601s from time to time but a 751 is a rare beast indeed and this is in nice used condition. Reasonable price too........there's a NOS 751 clutch cover on ebay for $250.00 plus shipping......it's been there a while..LOL...

    Jonsered Chainsaws

Only $58 and change to me. Seemed to not get any traction at all with zero bids. Someone would want one pretty bad at the starting price even!!! We'll see if comes back and cheaper....

    Jonsereds 49sp does not start

That's a well used 621.....spent many hours in your Grandfather's hands!! Hard to tell the year but it is an early one by the black and white sticker Arguably the finest Jonsereds ever made!!!

    Jonsereds 49sp does not start

LOL.......it's not eyesight so much as knowing what to look for. Having owned, used and rebuilt the 49SP saws for the last 47 years it's pretty automatic. My go to saw is still my original 49SP that I bought new in April of 1977, though I have a dozen or more running examples, that one is special.

    Jonsereds 49sp does not start

Glad you got it sorted out........but.......you better fold down the locking tabs onto a flat on your muffler bolts or you'll be looking for them in the sawdust pile...important.....

Yeah that's pretty much it......I will be getting the pics the daughter took with my Nikon onto my 'puter soon. Might be a few interesting ones in that batch.....
