Fair Price for a used Jonsered?

I agree compression seems low and factor in the price of a chain. If the saw is in excellent condition and just needs a rebuild and chain it would still be worth $100-150 imo.

    New Tractor and Winch

At the rate I have burnt through wood with my homemade owb this first year I may need all that wood for myself:msp_scared: But hopefully some mods this summer and only burning dry wood should help the wood consumption next winter. And so far I still have the whole 150' of cable, moving up to...

    New Tractor and Winch

Not far, just across the road. The FIL had his bush logged by former arboristesite member EHP. We are currently cleaning up the tops, getting close to 40 full cords cut.

Those trailers are very nice. If I was cutting and transporting wood any distance that would definitely be an option.

    New Tractor and Winch

Yep, still loving it. I think off the top of my head I have somewhere around 700 hours on it now with no major issues. Thanks. I use it often and sure think it would be a pain without it:D

    OWB's and lotsa wood.

Our house would cost a mint to make efficient, probably be $30 000 plus just to replace the windows. I have more wood and time then money so I am fine with burning a #### whack of wood.

    OWB's and lotsa wood.

In our home one stove wouldnt cut it. We ran a wood stove and a fireplace insert exclusively for the last 4 years. On cold windy nights I would have to get up several times to load the stoves. Now when it is cold and windy I top the owb up before bed and wake up to a toasty warm house. I have...

    OWB's and lotsa wood.

They are hungry beasts, but I have never been happier heating with wood. We have a big old drafty farm house that is comfy all over now with the owb.

    I have no hot water.

Did you "burp" your sidearm. When I first hooked mine up I thought all was good and the next day I felt the return line off the sidearm was cold an so was our water. It took quite a bit of bleeding to get all the air out of it.

Anybody run a ported saw for firewood?

I have an EHP 2156 and 395xp. They are woods ported work saws. I use the 2156 the most because it is light and has close to the same power as a 2171. I also like the fact that ported saws are faster in the cut, which reduces the time it takes me to cut a cord of wood. It could also be argued...

New stove decisions, thoughts, ideas, comments wanted

Get yourself a nice used Fisher. It will heat a heck of alot better than most stoves. My FIL gave me his mama bear 10 years ago when he bought a P.E. Summit. Both of us think the Fisher heated the same as the Summit if not better without using much more wood.

If memory serves me correct I think my friend paid around $1500 factory direct, and a blaze king ultra was about $3200++ at a local dealer.

I am south of Tillsonburg I will try to find a better website with more info. All I know is that they are Amish built locally. And I have two friends with the Cunningham and both are pleased with the performance of the stove as well as the price.

A friend of mine has a Cunningham heater by Suppertime stoves. He looked at the Blaze King as well as the Pacific Energy Summit. The Cunningham has an automatic damper as well as a very large firebox and btu output. He is took out a Regency stove that didnt hold enough wood for the long periods...
