Walbro WT-594 Replacement Carb: Extra Brass Tube?

I soldered shut the opening on the extra carb pipe and then covered it with a blob of silicone sealant. Hopefully it will not leak. This Echo CS-510 comes apart real easily and has been reliable over the past near 20 years. I wonder how the newer Echos compare? I would say my Stihl 026 is a...

Walbro WT-594 Replacement Carb: Extra Brass Tube?

Nobody knows what the extra bottom tube on this replacement Walbro WT-594 is for? Since the original carb doesn't have this tube, my inclination is to block it and see how it runs. If it performs poorly, I can always unblock it. Sure wish I knew it's purpose. Anybody know?

Walbro WT-594 Replacement Carb: Extra Brass Tube?

This Amazon replacement carb for a Walbro WT-594 carburetor on my Echo CS-510 seems identical to the original one EXCEPT for a small brass tube next to the adjustment screws that the original does not have. What is that tube's purpose? Is it a vent to the atmosphere or what? Should I leave it...

$8.45 eBay carb saves the day!

Yes, first I got a gen-u-whine Walbro rebuild kit for $5.99 thinking that was better/smarter than getting an $8.45 carburetor. Fooled me that time!

$8.45 eBay carb saves the day!

My old Stihl 026 wouldn't idle or run right even after a good carb soaking and rebuild kit. So I ordered a knockoff WT-194 carb off eBay for $8.45 delivered. Looked good although some guys say they're junk. I put it on and lo and behold the 026 is running like new again. I guess sometimes...

    Weird Problem with Stihl 026

Update to OP. I know this is old but for the record the weird no-start-when-cold problem was caused by a gummed up screen inside the carburetor. I noticed it right away when the carb was apart. Funny, because everything else was perfectly clean. But I sprayed and blew out the passages and...

Black or Blue Fuel Diaphragm in 026 Stihl?

Yes, my kit is the second K-10 one. Next time I'll know to get the K-20 kit. Funny there's two different kits. And I did use the blue diaphragm. Reassembled it today and it started fine. Carb needs adjusting though. Thanks!

Black or Blue Fuel Diaphragm in 026 Stihl?

Thanks for the useful chart! Lat it, the Teflon diaphragm would seem to be the best choice for a chainsaw. But this OEM Walbro rebuild kit K10-WAT doesn't have the Teflon one, only the rubber and acetate ones. WAIT! Actually it does have a Teflon one, but that one doesn't have the little...

Black or Blue Fuel Diaphragm in 026 Stihl?

If there's no working difference between them maybe I'll use the one that lasts longer -- so they say. Plus it is a pretty blue color and the old girl (1992) might like that. Thanks!

Black or Blue Fuel Diaphragm in 026 Stihl?

Old Stihl 026 with WT-194 Walbro carb and I'm rebuilding the carb. Rebuild kit has blue plastic and rubbery black fuel metering diaphragms, but old one in carb is tan Teflon type. Should I use the blue one or the black one? Or try to find a new tan one online? I run non-ethanol premium gas at...

    Weird Problem with Stihl 026

Guys, Has newish OEM air cleaner ($25). Even so, I just checked and choke is closing. Compression seems very good. Diaphragm in carb has been in there for at least 3-4 years. Don't recall for sure if I replaced it when I soaked carb in PineSol when it was clogged up. Don't think so because it...

    Weird Problem with Stihl 026

Older 1990s vintage 026. Normally a good, strong runner. Runs non-ethanol gas with Stabil. Did sit for a few weeks. Saw will NOT start cold. Sparkplug looks dry. Fuel filter passes gas -- at least I can blow through it. Saw starts right up if I put gas down sparkplug hole or in carb. Then it...

    Master Control on Stihl 026

Thanks. My 024 must be the early model then. I'm going out today and will pass a Stihl dealer on my way to Farm & Fleet. I plan to stop and get a new control rod for my 026. I'll ask about the 024 air filter too. But even with the control rod fixed the 026 still has another problem. No...

    Master Control on Stihl 026

I popped the handle off the 026 and removed the Master Control lever and sure enough it was broken! The little part or teat that "sets" the throttle was broken off and lying down inside. Possibly I broke it off but I don't think so. I've been using my 024 for years and never broke that one...

    Master Control on Stihl 026

I left that part out, but since you asked... The K100 BMW toolkit does come with a screwdriver. A cute little unit with both Phillips and flat blades at both ends of the shaft which you slip in and out of the handle. But it's rather small, almost dinky. The long screws holding the starter...

    Master Control on Stihl 026

Thanks for the tip. I'll watch that. Muffler screen was perfectly clean. Gotta tear into the fuel line and filter I guess. I'm gonna assume the carb rebuild is okay. Will probably peek inside the carb since it has to come off anyway. But first the Master Control switch. That doesn't seem...

    Master Control on Stihl 026

Thanks. The carb was supposedly rebuilt but that didn't fix the problem. (H/L needles I set one turn out). And yes, I will start with the fuel and impulse lines. I don't think those were changed. At least my cousin did not mention that. First off, however, I'm going to clean out the...

    Master Control on Stihl 026

Thanks. I'll take another look at it today. It does not seem to be working like the instruction booklet says it should. But the pieces all look to be in good shape and operating correctly. When the trigger set is working, you should see the trigger pulled up towards the handle a little...
