    Gloves for cold weather

While I was working in Northern Utah I had a pair if Black Diamond Ice climbing gloves. Good and warm. Because they were made for climbers you can use biners and ascenders. plus they are water proof. http://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en-us/shop/climb/climbing-gloves

    Power pruner vs. pole saw

THe hyuchi IS the BEst POle saw!! One of the best investments I have made. The Blades Are expensive to replace, but there is a shop in town that will sharpen it for $5. An Arborist can always make a better cut with a pole saw vs a powersaw. If you need to make a big cut use a ladder and...

    Line CLearance Certification

Has anybody out there received the Utility Specialist cert. from the ISA? It says on the ISA site the it does not qualify you to work around energized lines. Where can I get the training for working around energized lines? OSHA? Somewhere else I would like to be able to focus my search.

I get to top a tree...

Imagine if for once in the history of Bradford Pears one actually had structural pruning done from a young age. Has anyone out there seen one with a centralized leader? Did pdqdl ever say the tree to be topped was a Bradford Pear?

I get to top a tree...

Turn it down and keep your integrity More work will be coming it always does. Don't lose you integrity and reputation. Also there is the question of liability. If in five or ten years after the water sprouts have gotten big on breaks and damages something or hurts someone that is on your...

    COBRA vs. Tree Save

I have a big job coming up that will require dynamic cabling. Now I have used COBRA in the past. I have been pouring over the new Sherrill catalog looking at the other dynamic system, Tree Save. I know the virtues of cobra, and it seems like Tree Save has about the same to offer, but quite...

    pull rope 192t

What I was implying was that besides the ms-200, the ms-192 is a better saw then most other climbing saws on the market.

    What-a-stihls first tree

well done take down, but Where was the PPE? Glad to see that that the tree came down and no one was hurt. I think it is a dangerous president to set sending a first time climber up with out a helmet, eye protection, and only a steelcore filpline to work off. Steel core fliplines are cut...

    pull rope 192t

Don't listen to the ms-192 trolls I have run a ms-192t as my primary saw for over 3 years. It is a great saw and I have no complaints. I have run ms-200t's that were under powered and more fickle than either of my two ms-192t's. The only major repair I have done on the saw was to replace the...

    Killing Termites in a Tree

I was on an estimate yesterday looking at large Black Oak. I was looking at an old cut. It was about 12''-16'' in diameter and callused over leaving only about 3" gap remained. I noticed granular excrement and used my knife to pick out a termite. I gave it to an exterminator friend of mine...
