I agree. Bought on Ebay as new but wonder if a knock off or something. Has all the Stihl badges except the model lable on the handle. Haven't looked into yet but will tear down this winter. Any ideas?

After the first 500 or so teeth you'll get the hang of it. Just keep checking things until it comes naturally.

I had this problem and it was the vent. Try opening the gas cap and try restart.

Skip tooth on pine/fir/cedar just cut faster. Also a great noodling chain.

I would switch to the 3/8 to standardize all types of wood. I think they are more popular anyways ie get better deals on chain and bars.

It could have been a plugged vent hole. I blow out with air every time the saw breaks down for cleaning.

That depends a lot on what you're cutting. Softer wood is more forgiving where the harder woods demand more strength. Let us know which...

Different brands have different specs for manufacturing. The Rong Fu is better than Jet and Jet better than Grizzly. They look the same but tolerances are not. Find a good Series I Bridgeport if you can. The DRO and power feed are critical. Keep looking.

The only fuel additive I use is 1/2 ounce to 5 gallons gasoline of Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment to eat the water from the Ethanol (Alcohol) they put in the gas. I used to have problems with small engines but since I have used this 'additive' I have not had one single issue.

Where I live is mostly fir and pine. I use RSF Stihl chain. It seems to cut quicker and half as many teeth to sharpen.

I just worked on a 441 and really like the saw. I'm getting more interested in the 441cm because where I live its 5000 ft but where I cut wood is 7500 ft. I can't wait to hear how you like it. Please tell us what kind of wood you're cutting and what chain you are using.
