    1979 Bucket truck

I would love a bucket truck, but I would pass on this. I agree that this will be a work on truck not a work truck. Keep looking, you will find something worth bringing home.

    Part time Biz

Cost me less than $100 bucks I think for the first time reg. with the state. Have to fill out paperwork and pay another 50 or 60 bucks every spring to re-up and make the state happy.

    sales and marketing techniques

Tried a YP ad this past year. It was a smaller more local company so the price was right, I was able to do 1/4 page for cheap $. We got 1 call from that, and didn't even get the job. They wanted me to re-up this year, no thanks. Google places gets a good number of calls, facebook gets my...

Starting from Scratch, what should I start with to have the right equipment and steps

Keep that overhead LOW, start slow and do not over extend your wallet. Not to sound like on of those guys, but... If you need to ask what equipment you need, you probably should get some training. When it comes time to get started, before you hit that tree you should have biz insurance.

Gas the saw in the tree

I've seen guys on that Heli-Loggers show bring those aluminum bottles up with them. I think they are the same ones that some wild land firefighters use. They are only a tank or three extra, so not too much extra to hang off your harness. Myself, I send it down and have the groundy filler up...

    Husky III Bull Rope?

I had a nice 200 foot piece of husky rope (thanks to a top notch ground guy I have 3 pieces of husky rope now. It is an ok rope, its been a long time since I have used any other bull rope so I can't compare it too well. I got that because of the price. Mine came from treestuff.com, one of or...

    Stump grinding in frozen ground?

Thanks guys, I plan on renting a machine so did not want to bust the thing up and be left on the hook for a bunch of busted teeth. I would rather hold off till spring, but the customer wants it done asap (I bid it about two months ago and figured he changed his mind).

    Bb 200xp

Thanks for the input guys, definitely going to leave it on there. Has anyone ever mounted a small winch to their chipper(not the factory winch)? I was thinking about making a setup on the back for an ATV winch or one of those two inch receiver winches that go on the back of your truck for...

    Bb 200xp

Hey guys, just bought a new to me Brush Bandit 200xp. It needs a bit of body work and some paint. My question is... the drop down feed table seems very low(below knee high), any thoughts on cutting the thing off and just having the open feed area? It needs some metal work, but i do not want...

    New husky top handle chainsaw

Glad they finally figured out how to build a saw with the gas and oil out from under the handle. Still will not make it to my shelf with the white and orange saws though.

Rise and fall of work throughout the year

Tough to say, if you were able to get your name out there this summer you may do ok. But since you are in your first year it might be tight, a good ice storm can change that in 12 hours though. If I bid on a job though out the year and the person can't afford to have everything done at once I...

    CAD strikes again

Ordered my 660 the other day! He almost had me talked into getting a 260 pro to keep the 660 company on the way home, would have been sleeping in the camper if i got that too. As soon as its in I have a huge silver maple stump to try it out on. Wish they had it in stock, but for discount he...

does anyone know where to get parts for a wayne chipper ?

I own one, unfortunately I can not help. I think they have been out of biz for about 25-30 years.

Just picked up a brush chipper, Anyone have a clue as to its make and model?

I've got a Wayne and it looks nothing like that. Mine has a big WAYNE stamped in the cowling right over the grill on the road side. The chute is round, but it is round from about 8 inches from the drum. I think that all the ones that I have seen also sport a Chrysler 318. I have seen an...
