    Decomp! Yes or no??

Don't know the climate in your area, but in Wisconsin when it's 10 degrees outside, and your saws been sitting all night, the decompressor makes things move a little quicker.

Jonsered 2153, Sawtroll may be right!

Helped out today at the family timber business, and took along the J red 2153, that I just put back together, along with a 385xp that I got a while back and had never ran. I was quite impressed with the j red it is not a bad saw at all, It is set up for 3/8 and the only b&c we had for it was a...

    What do you think?

We build 2 stroke motors that put out 100's of horsepower in our shop not just 3 or 4 like a saw. There are many variables that effect a motor, clutches etc. Mr. super 3 the most technical thing you know about is that you can switch hands while surfing your Men's internet sites.

    Canola B&C oil?

Just got a 2153 Jonsered (heated handles) that was used by a carver friend that was in his winter saw collection. He uses canola oil because he says it doesn't burn at on high speed use like regular oil. This saw had sat in his shop over the late spring and summer season with no use. When he...

    What do you think?

If you can clamp your run out gauge (clock dial type micrometer) on your case and slowly check the crankshaft movement, then try and mark the spot if it is the same, after a few revolutions with a dry type marker pen. Then try and move the gauge to read at a different point on the same side of...

Might be an old question but, is there a Heavy Duty Air Filter Kit for Dolmar 5105.

If you take a small rubber band like the ones women use to tye their hair, and wrap it around the neck of the tube on the carb it will help seal between filter and carb. This will work on other saws with this type of filter to carb set-up. We cut a lot red and white pine at our shop and this...

The saw had a different carb even installed by previous owner, and no difference, the carb was set very lean . I had found fuel in the oil tank. So I pressure tested the engine, and there was leak down When the saw was on it's side and you opened the bar oil cap, you would get air bubbles...

Case gasket leak help on Jonsered 2153 WH

It does smoke a litttle more than a normal saw would. Also the exhaust port was filled with heavy oil carbon residue. I picked the saw up cheap ( $100.) so I am not out a bunch of money.

Case gasket leak help on Jonsered 2153 WH

Just acquired a 2153 WH with a case seal leak Saw will run fine then foul the plug, you can see a lot of heavy oil deposit in exhaust port, I then checked the bar oil tank and you could see and smell the oil was contaminated with fuel. Has anyone else had this problem? Also where can I go to...

    More Greasy Nasty Partner Pics

Nice saws, gotta love those 500, 5000 Partners, one of, if not the best, 50cc saw ever made. I have always had one that I use on or off a job site. We have a 5100 Dolmar at the shop (a great saw) that everyone loves, but I still prefer the Partner's. They just feel better in the hand, run great...

Partner 500/5000 Jonsered 490/590 removing worm gear???

You have to use the special threaded puller. I have a factory one but I know we made one years back, for our 5000's and I believe it may be a standard pipe thread, And it worked fine.

    .325 sprocket for redmaxGZ400/ryobi 10532?

I got my 4500 from a carver friend who sells redmax, he gave me a 3/8lp and a .325 setup for it, each one uses a different oil pump drive that the cluch engages, it may be different on other redmax saws. he did just grab the drives out of bins with no part nos. so maybe they are universal to all...

Stihl ms362 vs Makita 6401 comparison

John, if you are looking for a deal on a dolmar and are near Shawano, WI, try Dave's saw shop in Gresham, he has a sawshop on his farm that he has run for many years and is a dolmar dealer, a little off the beaten path, but he usually gives a good deal. 715-787-3360 you can call him any day. or...
