It does smoke a litttle more than a normal saw would. Also the exhaust port was filled with heavy oil carbon residue. I picked the saw up cheap ( $100.) so I am not out a bunch of money.

Nice saws, gotta love those 500, 5000 Partners, one of, if not the best, 50cc saw ever made. I have always had one that I use on or off a job site. We have a 5100 Dolmar at the shop (a great saw) that everyone loves, but I still prefer the Partner's. They just feel better in the hand, run great...

You have to use the special threaded puller. I have a factory one but I know we made one years back, for our 5000's and I believe it may be a standard pipe thread, And it worked fine.

I should have mentioned it before, I tried both the .325 and the 3/8 lp cut faster, it is actually a nice saw with this set up.

I got my 4500 from a carver friend who sells redmax, he gave me a 3/8lp and a .325 setup for it, each one uses a different oil pump drive that the cluch engages, it may be different on other redmax saws. he did just grab the drives out of bins with no part nos. so maybe they are universal to all...

Just to let you guys know I found a top cover for the 2054. A friend told me about a Jonsered dealer only 10 miles from me. He had one in stock, had been selling jonsered part time, out of his small shop, for about 40 years.

Just got a 2054 j-red with the 2 peice engine top cover, that is broken. Got a guy that has one with a 1 peice cover but he's about 75 miles from me, so I don't want to waste the trip if it won't fit. Any help will be appreciated.
