what caused the scar? The best thing to do is probably nothing! You can do a bark trace with a sharp knife if you know what you are doing ,but trees are very good at closing over their own wounds. If there is not alot of loose bark then just leave it alone. JPM

thats right, termites and ants only get into wood that is already dead in 99 % if the time. if you want something to spray try Astro or permethrin or pyrethrin. You probably have some other problem causing the dead wood in your trees. Definately have them looked at . JPM

i know that roundup is fairly safe and wont move in the soil , i dont know about the other product, cut the under brush and then treat with roundup. keep the roundup away fromthe trees you want to save, away fromthe green leaves.
