    OWB Question

I've got a friend with a propane fired burner in her house and is interested in converting to an OWB. I don't know anything about OWB's but told her I'd ask you guys what brands she should be looking at.

Has anyone seen my Carlton 20" bar?

I seem to have left it at a GTG last year and I do miss it. Terry said it wasn't in TN so that leaves TAMOK, IA or WI if my memory serves. Of course, if my memory was working, I wouldn't have lost my damn bar. :hmm3grin2orange:

    Arrowhead's getting a new saw!

Although I normally wouldn't be too pleased by someone stealing a Sachs Dolmar out from under my nose, Ed's such a good guy I guess I will have to let it slide this time. Picked this saw up for him last week and finally had time yesterday to snap a few pics and get it off to UPS.

.325 vs. .375 on a ported 50 cc saw. Which is better?

This question was brought up in a couple threads so I tried my best to do some testing this weekend at the Iowa GTG. Big thanks to mweba, GPT and pele55 for their invaluable help! Also, a big shout out to WGP for donating his 3/8's sprocket so we could complete the test since my local...

    What chain to buy?

I would like to finally settle on one type of chain to buy and trying to decide which one I like best. I really like Stihl out of the box but never seem to be able to hand file quite back to what it was. Oregon doesn't stay sharp as long but I am able to get a much better edge on it than I can...

Putting in a carb kit on my 395 and wondering what the setting on the metering valve should be. Thanks!

Vise tilt on an Oregon 511A

I just seem to be having a real mental block on figuring out if when cutting the left hand cutters, you push the vise away from you or pull it toward you to get the 10 degree angle and of course the opposite for the right hand ones. Does it really make that much difference to use the tilt? I...

    wendell got a new saw!!

The UPS man just dropped off my new to me 2171 compliments of mdavlee!! Watching the tracking, I couldn't figure out how the the 2171 weighed more than a 395 but now I see. That was an amazing job of packing, Mike. The saw is absolutely beautiful!! (Sorry, no pics until I get home...

Need some help on my new to me MS260

Just picked it up last night and the guy said it had been sitting 6 months so I didn't want to run it with the old gas so just got it fired up tonight. It starts fine and starts to idle fine but then it starts slowing down rather quickly and then dies. I don't have time to dig into it tonight...

Self Control Loses Out: My 346XP

A local dealer had their saws on sale and I wanted to pick one up before the non-cat ones were gone. Got them to sell it PHO and throw in the hat to boot! Going out to put it in some wood. :chainsaw: Sorry, Boyd. :(

Differences in the Husky _7_ saws

I'm trying to figure out the differences in the Husky 70 cc saws, 272, 372, 575, etc. I think I found a good deal on a 575 (is $350 good?) which I absolutely don't need but wondering where it fits into the mix and if it is a saw worth adding. I still gotta find a Stihl and Jonsered to fill...

Can you use the Husky Roller Guide on RSC?

Besides the obvious risk of causing a rift in the space/time continuum by combing a Husqvarna product with something made by Stihl, will it be OK to use my 3/8" guide on my RSC chain?

I thought new chain was supposed to "stretch"

I picked up one of the last Carlton/Tsumara bars from Bailey's (.058) and got some RSC to go with it. Finally got to use it the other day to noodle up some trunk pieces from a silver maple that fell in my neighbor's yard. The chain moved freely before I began and after about 15 minutes, I...

Question on adjusting the L screw

My 7901 is running great but am having a small problem when restarting it. If I only shut it down for a few minutes in starts right back up with one easy pull. If it sits for about 15-20 minutes, though it is a real challenge. On the second or third pull, it will start but die out after a second...
