Omitting or bypassing autofeed valve on 2005 Bandit 250

The autofeed valve is leaking again for the third time and I just want to omit it because the autofeed function has never worked correctly from day 1. How do I bypass it?

    Thinking of switching to Husqvarna

I am getting tired of replacing my 200Ts and 441 due to the engines falling apart. I recently bought two of the last MS 440s that my dealer had but I will soon need to replace them. I want to give Husky a try because I have never owned one and they seem to have a good reputation. I've owned...

Please Identify this Cherry tree problem

This is occurring in a lot of Cherry trees in my neighborhood. I also noticed it in a Bradford Pear that was right next to an infected Cherry except the BP leaves were black. I am guessing that it is Fire Blight but welcome your opinions on diagnosis and treatment.

    How's business this year?

Last year at this time I was booked out to 3-4 weeks working 6 days a week. This year, for the first time in many years, I'm only booked out 4-5 days. The housing market is the slowest in 20 years and we all know about gas prices and uncertainty in the economy. I might have hit a temporary...

Brand new Bandit 250: auto feed won't work

I just bought a Brush Bandit 250. The auto feed light comes on but shuts off at operating speed. I can take it back to the dealer, but I was wondering if there is something that I'm missing that would make it work?

    Treesave or Cobra?

I am going to add support to a co-dominant Yellow Poplar next month and would like your input on what system to use. I have been using J lags and steel wire but that is too time consuming. The non-invasive support slings for the Treesave system are a bit pricey. What would you use for a...

    Been gone a while

Well, I've been busy and haven't been playing on the computer. In the meantime I've had my bucket truck burglarized. Thief took 3 440M's, 3 220T's, a brand new 5/8 inch Stable Braid rope, a Stihl backpack blower, and one Jameson 6 foot pole. They tried to take my Porta Wrap but dropped it...

    Question for Sub-contract climbers

Have you guys ever considered hiring a groundman that you can have work with you on all of your jobs? If you are in demand it seems that companies would be willing to incur a little more expense or just factor it into job pricing. After all, it's nice to have a groundman that knows what you...

200T quits but starts right up

My newest 200T acts like it's running out of gas and then quits. It then starts right up with no problem. Any ideas? Could it be the gas vent? BTW, the gas tank vent was replaced when I bought the saw. It leaked from the start.

    Slack tender

On the lanyard set-up that I just made, I had figured on using a swivel snap as a slack tender. However, after I brought it home I realized that I have a spliced thimble on the end and I can't feed it through the snap (spliced in aluminum snap on other end). I don't want to cut the end off...

    Daisy Chain

I just put my lanyard together with a V.t. I've never had an eight foot lanyard before. I've read that you guys daisy chain the extra length. What knot do you use to keep it from unravelling but still keep it accessible?

How many of you wear protective chaps while climbing?

I don't and none of the climbers I know wear them. Maybe I should since I was cut above my right knee while in the tree. I was thinking of making a protector for just the right side since all of the leg cuts I have seen were in that general area.

I ordered the 4 piece extension saw and the 390mm handsaw. Anybody have any experience with these saws?

What do you do with nests that have babies in them?

I'm sure you're like me and have run into lots of squirrel and birds nests. I have relocated the ones that I could if there was a tree nearby. Some squirrel nests I just put near the base of another tree and the mother comes and gets the babies.

    Why is it that...

When you say let it run, your groundman holds it and when you say hold it, they run it into another limb and snag it? Like MB said: the last cut you run out of gas As soon as you sharpen or replace a chain, you hit a nail Right when you go to jump a big top out on a dead calm day, the...
