    Sena 33i

we love the 33i. Way better and simpler connectivity than the smh10. You just need to make sure you install it correctly in the helmets

    Who are your best influencers?

Clarification: I'm not talking about social media! As I think about marketing for the new year, I'm considering what kind of person/business is often in front of my ideal client and would be a potential source of referrals/leads- and I'm interested in knowing who some of your best influencers...

Neighbor wouldn't allow Oak Leader to be cut past property line, tree may die?

It will look ugly and definitely sprout new growth. While heading cuts like yours are not advisable, cutting back such a large limb to the main trunk would certainly provide a space for rot to set in the main trunk, which would be more likely to compromise the tree long term. so... a. sprout...

Some more winch action today. Very big codom red oak, which we guyed together. Had to fell several trees in the immediate vicinity. 2 pull lines on the bugger. About 115 hours on the LS now. I'm glad we finally bought something new.

Ah, sorry. I'm often thinking about how to best plan for and gather ideas for the winter strategy- and learn from others like yourself. I had forgotten I'd already asked.

    Working with neighbors

Hey guys. I seem to come across this situation semi regularly where 2 or more neighbors want to get quotes for tree work. When it works out it's super convenient to do both simultaneously since you only need to mobilize once. I often give some kind of a discount to motivate them to go in...

I had a similar thought. Could they have been sucked back into the woodlot using your farmi winch? Or even felled into the yard, missing those little cherries? Pictures, of course, never tell the whole story.... My guess is that you typically don't even leave a divet in the lawn and want to...

    New thread

I had a change of heart! Bought an old beast and wound up selling it. I think I could make 6-8k or so per week with one but after paying a driver, buying diesel, and beating up the truck on logging roads, I decided it wasn't worth the stress. I think I'd rather devote one exclusively to tree...

I'd love a truck like that. Would make white oak logs like this easier! I think we chunked it into about 6 pieces to help my little LS handle it. Maybe someday! Not a good time to be in the log truck buying market currently.

Looking very slick as usual. What is that, a 55 ton?

    Ideal Sized Chipper

I'm not very mechanical but it's what was recommended to me. The shop is very reputable and since the engine is older and an industrial model, it's quite a bit more nuanced than a typical cummins apparently. I would love to have just spent 2500 hundred. My point to the original poster was that...

    Ideal Sized Chipper

Im going to sound like a contrarian here but here are my rapidly typed thoughts. I have owned 9, 12 and 18 in chippers. An 18 in is definitely a night and day difference from something smaller but they are way more expensive. It's not hard to find a 12 in starter chipper for under 15 grand...

Spent the past 2 days removing dying spruce from the town cemetery. Love the VERY local jobs... need to replace that grill!

Anyone know of a company or place that is equivalent to a wood chipper junkyard?

Glad to hear! Sounds like it was a headache. I didn't know gravely had made chippers. My father has a couple 40 plus yr old gravely tractors still mowing the lawn every week.

How are your winters looking??? I think ours will be a good one, pending a few big jobs we have out for bid. Booked with mostly residential up til about Christmas right now.

I could have used something liked that today. It very very sketchy running the bucket truck along a sideways grade on a hill. Ive talked to the sales guy at dino lifts too. Are they pushing 200k now? Interest rates are killer right now.

They look amazing. Very spendy though! Apparently they move and deploy faster than the tracked lifts.
