Stihl 026 fuel leak and tuning issue

I just picked up an 021 that ran like a champ but quickly developed a problem running and fuel leaking at the top of the tank. Turns out the fuel line was cracked at the bend just above the fuel tank. Remember that the ethanol in the fuel these days takes its toll on the rubber parts. It is...

    Husky 445 Too much oil...

It's not really a detriment other than this is my carving saw and it slobbers oil all over whatever I'm working on. I'm talking puddling!

    Husky 445 Too much oil...

<Bump> a Any ideas anyone on how to decrease output on a fixed-output pump?

    Fire cleanup

You might want to bring an axe to "sound" each tree by thumping it to check for rot before you start cutting...

    Husky 445 Too much oil...

Thanks John, I have looked there before and even the mech at Bailey's looked and did not see any adjuster. But I did just go look again and when you look at the spot where the adjuster should be all you can see is the drive gear for the pump which rotates with the clutch drum. As far as I can...

    Husky 445 Too much oil...

OK, so I have a relatively new Husky 445 that I have installed a 12" carving bar on. With the shorter bar it is just spewing bar oil all over the place. To my knowledge there is no adjustment screw on this saw to tone it down a bit. Since my dilemna is usually just the opposite of this I'm...

Dolmar Experts - 7900 Oil Pump Adj. Screw

I had the same issue when I rebuilt my 6401/big bore. I "miked" both black & white and found no difference. I started with the white and will install the black when the white one wears out - which it will because it is, after all, plastic.

Got a home depot Makita DCS6401 today!

Nice score! Usually the HD saws come with safety chains which - as previously stated - are useless. Yours has an actual chain! The oilers on these saws have a plastic adjuster that wears out kind of quickly. Easy to rebuild, I'll see if I can find a link to that thread for you. Parts are...

It almost brought me to tears....

    DOH! ... I just re-read what I posted: "... I get wood and everyone is happy" :msp_blushing:. :evilgrin::evilgrin:

Will my splitter bust this round?

What he said... Otherwise go for a Fiskars. Looking at your wedge I think you could stand to add a bit more "flare" about 2/3rds the way in. Might help on those stringy chunks. Of course that assumes the beast actually runs. Seriously, that should be no problem if your splitter runs and...

It almost brought me to tears....

Bob, something to consider since if they are clearing Hwy 1 there will probably be more to come down . . . Become a "wood recycler" ! i just got access to about 4 to 5 cords of some 300+ year old valley oak from the contractor that took the trees down. The city did not want to hear the wood was...

    Echo CS-520 questions/problems

I learned a long time ago to never say never, because at some point it probably will... I know how a clutch works, and I wouldn't have said what I said if I hadn't seen it myself. The ex-rental 6401 I bought had a scorched clutch with 2 broken springs and one that had no tension on it. The...

    Vintage 125C

Wow Dennis, great friends to have and great scores! My son lives in Chico, he'd be more than happy to do a meet & greet/score next time you are out partying it up! :blob3: I'm only a couple hours away and could easily run up there to relieve you or your friends of any excess magnesium...

    Echo CS-520 questions/problems

Sounds like you may have a clutch problem. Overheating probably caused the springs to loose temper or break so you are not getting hooked up completely under a big load. My 520 has plenty of power for its size and flings oil like the Exxon Valdez. Something is not right and you should pull it...
