    Lightning Strike

85' oak didn't stand a chance against a lightning strike.

Thanks! I too find them fascinating. I've been putting egg sacks around my yard in the spring to try and populate them. So far I've only seen one adult. Here's a sack from last year:

    2004 Toyota Tacoma V6....

The gas mileage on the V6 Tacoma is pretty lousy for a six cylinder vehicle. I average about 19 MPG on combination highway/city driving.

    2004 Toyota Tacoma V6....

I have a 2003 Tacoma, 4X4, v6 with 110,000 miles and still going strong. One issue with these is that the frame's prematurely rust out. My dealer spent two days rust-proofing the frame after a manufacturer's recall. The one major issue I had, other than standard maintenance, is the check...

Which Photo Do You Like Best?

I've been playing around with some photo's from a European vacation and using Photomatics HDR software to merge several images into one image. The results can be dramatic but not to everyone's liking. Here's two examples from the same image. I'm on the fence as to which is "better". One is...

This must a popular photo spot. I seemed to remeber seeing photo's of this somewhere. I flipped through an old photography book and there it was. Nice job.

    Where was this photo taken?

Yes it's quite an eyesore IMO. :msp_scared:

They say that the best camera is the one that you have in your pocket. I only had a point and shoot (Nikon P7100) but still managed to capture the magnificent clouds highlighted by the setting sun.

    New climber advice needed

Get a rigid bosun seat for your saddle and your testicle squeezing will end. I migrated from the standard butt strap, which squeezes the jewels, to leg loops which are uncomfortable when suspended for a few minutes, to rigid bosun which is the most comfortable.

    Homemade lanyard

Much better IMO. I like to use heat shrink tubing instead of tape for a more pro look but the tape will work OK too.

    Pull Start Recoil Spring Oiling

When I finally took it apart to install the new spring I found a caked mess. Probably didn't even need the new spring just a good cleaning. :msp_rolleyes:

    Pull Start Recoil Spring Oiling

I just replaced the old spring on my 028 figuring that it was worn out. When I opened the spring case it was covered in dried out grease or oil. Does anyone oil their starter recoil springs?

What's with that hole in the white cover? Did you adjust the carb after opening it up a bit?

    MS 460 Hard Starting

Thanks for all of the reply's. Who makes the best carb kit? I see a lot of places advertising Walbro.

    MS 460 Hard Starting

My MS 460 is very hard to start. In the full choke position it won't kick over not even once. The only way to actually get it started is my using no choke, fully depressing the throttle and pulling until your arm falls off. I had it into a shop and they adjusted the carb but it still doesn't...

What camara do you use to video tape your tree action

I agree, for the money and flexibility GOPRO makes an excellent camera. They can even be used underwater.
