Anybody want a smoking deal on a new Drolet Tundra/Heatmax? or a stove?

Nope, it just sits on the pallet so I just strapped it on with a couple ratchet straps. I stripped it down pretty much as much as I could, took all the fire brick out. I wanted to see under the sheet metal too :). As far as the stuff inside if i remember right the book was in the firebox and the...

Anybody want a smoking deal on a new Drolet Tundra/Heatmax? or a stove?

I took a couple 2x4s with angles cut on the ends and screwed them to the bottom of the pallet. Ratchet strapped the furnace to the pallet then. Slid it down the stairs. Worked good.

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

I don't have any experience with snap disks but I'm thinking a limit switch is a better way to control the blower fan since the "on" and "off" can be adjusted independently of one another. Even the adjustable snap disks still have a set differential right? Snap disks are cheap compared to limit...

Did you ever get a chance to measure your tundra and compare specs?

PSG caddy vs Jack vs Kuuma Vapor vs Napoleon HMF150 --yes, another "help me pick a wood furnace"

Things are great! I sold the old farmhouse acreage and moved into a mid 60s ranch so my heating demand is going to be alot less. There's no way I could heat this place with the Superjack unless I was going to leave half the windows open haha!

PSG caddy vs Jack vs Kuuma Vapor vs Napoleon HMF150 --yes, another "help me pick a wood furnace"

I'd also like to know seeins I have one sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Did I make a bad decision by buying one? It seems decently well built..not as heavy as my old Yukon but decent. Most everything I have heard about them has been good besides the ash pan but that has been...

    plenum on drolet tundra

Yeah I should probably just use it as the owners manual states. It just seems odd to me that the tundra and caddy basicly share the same firebox but the caddy had a large plenum opening and the tundra is supposed to use 2 and only 2 of the 8" ducts. I guess I still have some time to think about...

    plenum on drolet tundra

That's true didn't think of that. Would have to find some 16ga. Or so steel. Then I could always go back to original if I ever wanted to..

    plenum on drolet tundra

I have a drolet tundra sitting in my garage waiting to be installed in the basement. I've been thinking about how and where I want to install it and wishing I could use a plenum instead of the two 8" pipes out the top. So I was wondering if I could cut the top out of the tundra and install a...

Introducing Brand New Wood Furnace to Market - The Drolet Tundra!

I'll have to do that tonight when I get home from work. Been itching to take a look at it anyway. The unit on display looked small to me too but I'm used to feeding a Yukon super jack.

    Open or closed hyd system

You will want an open center valve. Your tractor has a fixed displacement pump and open center valves. Using a closed center valve will require the relief to open when the cylinder is not in action and put extra load on the hyd system and cause heat build up.

    My furnace is too small

Thats what I had to do. My wood load during the day has to last me 10.5 hrs. since there is no one here to feed the fire and during the -40 to -50 degree windchill days that just doesn't cut it. In my case I have to let the lectric furnace take over. Just got my bill for the month of January...

    My furnace is too small

Haha yes he would! It's all about the heat exchanger surface area... I'm for the most part happy with my SJ and glad the Daka is working for WS.

    My furnace is too small

Spidey, what you need is a Yukon super jack ;). My place did good Monday night went to bed at 72° and woke up 7 hours later at 66° what saved me was the lack of wind though. As you've seen I catch a lot of wind!

How I heat my entire home...

That white spot where the paint turned white is from me :D I'm the person that sold spidey the daka. I had to push it pretty hard a few times trying to heat my old drafty house.

    Yukon-Eagle Super Jack

I agree with brenndatomu a SJ would be too big for your house and would probably give you creosote issues due to idling too much. If I were you I'd be looking at a caddy or the kuuma.

THOSE OF US THAT HEAT WITH WOOD,DO YOU USE A HUMIDIFIER? WHAT SIZE AND KIND?

My house used to get terribly dry. I looked into getting a big stand alone humidify but for a little more I could get a whole house unit. I went with a Honeywell HE365. Been working for 3 years with no problems, just replace the evaporative pad once a year.
