    Jonsered Chainsaws

Rear handle fix Had a bit too much slop on the rear handle of my dad's 52e for him to use it, so I drilled through the center of the av buffer where it's hollow, filed down a 1/4" screw to length, filed one side of a washer flat to fit on top of the shelf of the handguard. Then heated up the...

    Callin' all you j-red heads!!!

I have an 18" bar on mine, it's about the same as a 361. I out cut my friends who have 361s, but they don't cut as often as I do. Saw seems a little more balanced and compact to me, may just be me though.

    Callin' all you j-red heads!!!

Around here that would be a good price. I think I was in the upper 600's when I got mine. I love it although I believe some early models with the auto decompression had problems? Mine runs beautiful, my favorite saw to run. :chainsaw:

    Microfiche to digital?

If you can get a digital photo to turn out off the reader, you upload the pics, then you get to pay Adobe to turn them into PDF. https://acrobat.com/pricing.html :(

    Microfiche to digital?

Some of the colleges around here have the reader hooked up to a projector, may be easier to photo them and download the pics if they have something like that around.

When did you run your first saw?

About 10. Dad got an old Homelite XL and had me start with branches on an x frame until I got a feel for wood.

    Recommendationes from the pro's please

I've run the Jred 2156 (Husky's counterpart) for a few years now and it'll cut about even with a 361. Power wise it's the same, go handle them, see which one you like better.

    cc concerns

Well, it looks like it depends on who you believe. http://www.tiltonequipment.com/html/chainsaws_225.htm shows "Recommended Bar Lengths: 16"-36"." http://www.tilton.usa.jonsered.com/node246.aspx shows "Recommended bar length, min-max 18"-28" / 45-70 cm" Go figure :dizzy:

    Lets critique this exceptional saw

Looks to me like it was pieced together from spare parts? "Q: Why has the tank on the saw been replaced with one off of a MS440, having a twist lock fuel cap? Feb-13-10 A: The saw was built by a Stihl Tech from nearly all new Stihl parts. The following parts are new STIHL parts...

    021 project

Thanks guys. I have another parts saw a friend of mine said I could have, just was wanting to save myself a 40 mile drive. :) Oil pump out on his, but otherwise ok, so I'll probably pick his old one up next time I'm out his way. I'm not really looking to sink money into this saw, just more of a...
