    Help picking out a chipper

wood chipper I second the Vermeer 1250 recommendation. Good chipper for the money. Had a Bandit chipper once....once. Get as much hp as you can afford. We have a Rayco stump grinder with a Deutz diesel. runs good but has overheating issues when it is hot outside due to oil cooling and...

    Natrure's Comfort gt220 review

OK, I'm on my second season with the new GT220 from Nature's Comfort. I thought I'd give my experiences to help anyone out there considering buying one. Fired it last year in September. We had a mild winter, pretty much the nicest weather ever in the history of Iowa. I burned 9 cords of...

    Morbark vs. Bandit Chippers

morbark Never ran a Morbark. However, I did own a Bandit 150 for 3 MONTHS! Because it took me 2 MONTHS to sell it! Couldn't stand that chipper. Go with what you know works. Big motor, sharp blades, good grunts, winch if you can get it.

    New Rayco rg 1645s

new rayco Nice machine. How is the visibility of what the wheel is doing? Is it direct drive or hydrualic over belt/chain? We have a rayco rg50 right now and actually like the swing out panel for visibility but we'd like something newer 4x4 and push blade. Considering the Carlton 4012...

Help make up my mind on used chipper

used chipper well you are going to get some opinions on this thread. I own, run, and work on all my own equipment. I have owned 4 vermeer 12 inch chippers, one bandit 150, and most recently a Woodsman 12x. The Woodsman is better, simpler, and most user friendly. Just get plenty of...

    Vt365?

vt365 I would definitely stay away from a vt365. I called about a nice looking chip truck and when I found out the motor, the salesman said its a good motor as long as you only drive 10-15k miles a year and not for someone going to drive 30k a year. HUH? Now that is some salesman BS! So...

COUGH...Breathing smoke when filling my OWB

smoke in face, yep. we are in our first season with Nature's comfort gasification gt220. Just open it up and stand back. they built a smoke bypass chimney to open in the back of the firebox when loading but it doesn't do any good. When you open the door you've created such a huge opening...

Spicer 5 speed jumping out of 4th gear

thanks for the replies. Not the greatest news though. Just bought the truck and didn't notice on the test drive because I wasn' t in 4th gear very long. Now that I'm home, 4th gear is the main gear for around town driving 25-40 mph. Goes in easy and doesn't vibrate or jump out...

Buying a new chipper, need input. Morbark m12r?

Horsepower! 84 hp is not enough. I've owned a few chippers and more power is always better. Had 2 vermeer 1250s one had about 84 hp and the other had over 100 hp, both Perkins diesels. The 84 struggled and couldn't recover very fast when auto feed cycled. The 100+ on the same machine...

which fluid do you use? For anyone running an Altec LRV. What fluid do you use in the hydraulic system?

    Kubota pony motor

So, is it fixed? I was thinking maybe fluid was changed and it is too thick for the little motor. Happened to a friend with a log splitter once, wouldn't run in the winter. Thought it was the carb, found out it was too thick of fluid. Just a thought.

    Wallenstein splitter

how old is your splitter? My Father in law just bought a Wallenstein splitter. Very nice splitter, I like the tall, sharp wedge on it.

Anyone know the correct hydraulic fluid for a 2002 LRV boom? The normal fluid, not the extreme cold or hot fluid. Thanks, Russ.

Help changing drum bearing Woodsman 12x

Anyone know the procedure of changing belt side drum bearing on a 2004 woodsman 12x? Mine was making some noise the other day so I went ahead and ordered new bearing a seals. Since then it has not made any noise but figure that was my warning.

anyone deal with KW truck equipment?

int 4800 no highway at all? I am mostly in town here but do go out on the interstate to get to suburbs and other close towns. My truck is pretty slow with low gears, governed out, and 4x4. Low 50s is about it. What is the road speed on the 4x4 you have? Looks like it has super singles...
