    Safe Falling of rotting Ash

There have been 2 people killed in the last 15 months within 12 miles of my home felling ash. One was a very experienced logger. I have decided to let nature take care of the few dead ash I have left. Up until last year I carefully felled them. Not worth getting injured or killed over when there...

    M-Tronic/Autotune & Oil Ratio Change?

I have been running 2 MS 261 Motronic saws @ 40:1 for about 5 years now with 0 issues. One is ported by Mastermind. It is the only mix I use. Both saws run like the day I got them, which is to say very good!

What fuel mix ratio best for M-tronic saws?

Hey whatever works for ya. Murphy often sits on my shoulder just waiting to hit me on the head. When it is my equipment and wallet on the line I will go the extra mile and spend the very few pennies it costs to make sure the lube and oil changes are taken care of to my liking. All manufacturers...

What fuel mix ratio best for M-tronic saws?

Obviously you believe everything you read. Tear down some saws that get run hard using 50:1 vs 40:1 mix and then get back to us. I want to see a nice oil film on all those parts spinning at 13,000 rpm. Car manufacturers state in the owners manual you never need to change transmission fluid...

What fuel mix ratio best for M-tronic saws?

Been using 40:1 in mine for over 4 years now without issue, just like in all my 2 cycle equipment. My stash of Mobil 1 synthetic ran out and am now running Lucas semi synthetic. Always E-free gas with a little extra stabilizer added.

    CL 5036 Question

Amy, welcome to the site! First of all what is your water temp as I did not see you state it? Blackdog mentioned the cleanout for the chimney, simple to do. I brush mine out a couple times a season, simple and easy to do. The solenoid for the draft is easy to service and I keep a spare around...

Best way to make your OWB last.

Do not burn pressure treated wood, plywood or garbage. These create acids which will eat your firebox.

Saw choice- new Echo 590, new Husky 455 or used Makita 6100?

These saws are easily converted to a rim sprocket setup, rims are usually under $10.

Saw choice- new Echo 590, new Husky 455 or used Makita 6100?

There are many here on this site that think very highly of the Echo 590. I myself have the 600P model. The fact that you burned up 3 of what is a very durable saw indicates that you do not have any idea how to properly tune a saw. In your defense they are noted for having a lean tune from the...

    Looking to buy a owb

EPA stoves cannot handle wet/green wood. Plugs up all the air tubes with creosote. That said wet/green wood is not good in any type of wood stove. It creates unecssary moisture in the stove and chimney resulting in corrosion issues. It also provides quite a bit less heat as the energy in the...

Echo 50cc port job or buy a 60cc?

Since it sounds like you have one saw at this point, I vote for adding the 590 to your team. Plenty of time to add some porting to your saws down the road! Sent from my Life One X2 using Tapatalk

    dolmar/makita 5105 user experiences

5105 with a muff mod. One of the best starting saws I have ever had. Good stump on the bottom and top. One of the forgotten stars in the 50 cc class. Mine ain't going anywhere!

    CB 5648 issue

I have a 5648 and heat over 3000 sq ft in my home + hot water + hot tub + a 4400 sq ft garage with 14 foot ceilings and have no trouble burning 8-10 hours at below 0 temps, so something is pulling the heat out of your stove. Have you checked the rope around the door? You may find it is a...
