pro saws vs homeowner/farm and ect

i really think that it depends on each application. that being said, it also depends on which pro vs mid-range. hey treeclimber57, i see you have both an MS260(pro) and an MS270(mid range) Stihl saws. is there THAT big of a difference, in your opinion, on quality, comfort, style, etc. between...

    McCulloch Chain Saws

from the looks of things, you'll probably make it. i don't really collect them, i use them. and this one is, as you so eloquently put, "fat, slow, loud, plenty of torque, quite dependable", andmanually oiled....not unlike myself. but i digress... it was great for years, but just don't use it...

Beefing Up a saw, squeezing more power out of it

i'm new here. how do we find said porters?? i have an MS270 that i bought because of it's weight and my back.(weight=low, my back=bad) i like the power it has stock, but i would LOVE to have about 4hp. that power to weight ratio would be killer.

Just bought a stihl MS270, need some help.

neither does mine. uses about 80-90%. i have a 20" bar on mine w/Oregon chisel chain. this little saw is impressive. it goes thru 16-18" black oak like butter. on softwood, w/an 18" chain, your saw should fly. you've got something wrong somewhere. a good dealer should have filled oil & gas...
