    Top Handle Recommendation?

3/8lp narrow kerf(.043 gage) is so much better.

    Rope and pulley size?

They are fine so you are good to go.

    Top Handle Recommendation?

I have been using a modded 2511 in oak, hickory, and sugar maple removals. My 200t has been run once in many months and that was because the 2511 ran out of gas and I didn't want to wait for a refuel. Once I have the tree brushed out using the 2511 I swap out for a rear handle either 550 or 372...

    Damaged Large Old American Elm

That tree had lots of problems before the "damage" was done. Bark inclusions and a split are obvious for a two second glance at the "healthy" photos. It can be trimmed up, the damage cut out, and some cabling and bracing possibly but it is really at the end of it's days for a over mature tree of...

    Husqvarna 298xp

Old saw so maybe $4-500 is a fair price.

    Rope and pulley size?

One other thing, I do 95% of my removals with 1/2" stable braid and the rest with either 5/8" or 3/4" for the trunk wood. No need to use a heavier line than necessary and I have lines up to 1".

    Rope and pulley size?

1/2" in a 5/8" pulley or block is fine but not so much the other way around. Read up on bend ratio.

    Stump grinder teeth sharpening

Just to update this old thread I haven't sharpened teeth in several years, not worth my time. When I posted 7 years ago I had time now not so much. The wheel was from Eagle Super Abrasives 36grit.

    Vermeer bc1400

You have an air leak somewhere. I would replace the bushings in the fuel lines behind the engine where your filter is located.

    whadja do today?

I miss the ash but I am glad I don't have to work them any more, 90% gone here. Dusty mother fuggers.

    whadja do today?

Running a CMC 72hd arb pro. I don't think it is quite as fast as an Omme but I am not a fast paced production kind of guy. The functions are smooth so it's fast enough. No real issues so far, knock on wood. I love the thing!

    whadja do today?

I don't think a lift will replace a bucket, but a lift is all I run now. A lift has better access, less impact, more compact, and is half as fast ): as a bucket.

    Funny FB add for climbing.

Threads like this make me giggle.

Truck, come along, or winch when you need to resort to ropes and pulling?

I use my mini skid (Vermeer S800tx) to pull 99% of my trees and the other 1% is the mini with some MA added.

Goes where even you can imagine, but not in your price range.

    Getting 31 stumps ground

I know what a good price is and clean up is double no dirt that's extra.
