No More Shipped Husky's From Bailey's

There are no stocking Husky dealers within 40 miles of here.As a result, other than the Husqvarnas that Lowes sells, there are none to speak of. I've stated many times that I've never worked on a Husky because they are all but non existant in these parts.Lots of Stihl dealers, the good ,the bad...

    Donating Chainsaws to the poor

I've never been dirt poor but I have been cash strapped a time or two.It doesn't hurt to lend a helping hand now and again.Sometimes all it takes is a little boost to get over the hump . Now for the down right lazy, this doesn't apply. Some people are too lazy to wipe their own butt .The good...

    Donating Chainsaws to the poor

The whole thing is very benevolent of you Brandon, good for you. Now the subject of usable saws and firewood. For what it's worth more times than not a usable or repairable saw can be found at many garage sales for under 25 bucks.Oh it's not some hot-rod,souped to the gills 066 or...

waste oil in a OWB ... ideas??

Burning waste oil has been around since there has been waste oil to burn. The old drip systems have been used most likely since the 20's and work just fine after you figure out how to use them. However before you trot right out and buy or build one,you have to have a supply of oil. Those three...

What until you have to work in microns. That's like the fuzz on a gnats behind.

    Splitter Wedge

I'm not real sure about the weldability of A2 or air hardening steel. You get to fooling around with A2 ,O2 ,4140 etc you might bite off more than you can chew .Hard is one thing but brittle is another. If you want a tough wedge, for one reason or another, get a piece of " yoalloy".,which...

    Flea bay 038 MAG

You did just fine on the deal .A good handle usually brings nearly 100 bucks. For what it worth,I will likely have about 200 bucks in the 038 Mag I have setting on my work bench as I type, not counting the price of a bar and chain. I bought the thing just for the handle but then decided to...

    Mice in the woodpile

Oh I could tell rodent stories 'till the cows come home. Here's another. In a former life with a former wife I used to park my dozers under an open metal roof shed.In the spring when I fired up that old D4 Cat it would blow out walnuts like machine gun rounds and ricocet them off the roof.I...

    Flea bay 038 MAG

Chances are if Rich said it's a mag ,most likely it is. As I said before some had a decal that said Magnum, which could easily get pulled off .Most likely easiest way to tell is pull the muffler and measure the bore. That of course would only comfirm what you have but what ever it is,you can't...

    Mac question

Well , the super 550 is an RCH bigger than 99 cc's.The 550 is a 2.165 bore by 1.635 stroke. The super is 2.217 bore by 1.635 stroke giving it 6.3 cubic inchs ,instead of 6.03 of the 550,if I read my micros correctly .:D What,if any of the parts interchange between the 90 series kart engines...

waste oil in a OWB ... ideas??

I've got three friends that have actual waste oil burners and they work real well. One owns a trucking company and uses the crankcase oil from about 30 trucks. One owns a welding shop and the other has a 60 by 96 foot shop with about 400 thousand bucks worth of custom cars in it...

Splitting Hickory: Do you people do this by hand?

Oh pshaw, hickory isn't that bad.I split 4 cords by hand last year and I'm an old duffer. The trick,if there is any is to wait until it gets cold outside then give it 'ell with the axe, mall, wedges and as a last resort rip it with a saw.Of course a hydraulic splitter will do all this providing...

    Mac question

    Flea bay 038 MAG

Someplace if it is a mag it will either have a decal across the top that says Magnum or on the plate that says Magnum II. However if it is just an AV,all is not lost.It won't quite have the guts of a mag but it's far from anemic. Chances are though if the tank and handle are metal it's...

waste oil in a OWB ... ideas??

Well, back in the 30's my grandfather had a commercial garage in Pittsburg Pa.He heated the thing with whatever he could stuff through the door of a big old gravity furnace, wood, slack coal, old tires, you name it. He also had a drip sytem that dribbled used oil,by way of a valve onto the...

    Mice in the woodpile

Just a comment about the "Blue streak". It will kill anything, including humans so be darned carefull if you use the stuff. I'm plagued with chipmonks myself, tried everything I could think of.Aha says I ,genius of the cornfield,a little Decon might work. I must have fed those little rascals a...

    Saw Reassembly Lube?

Oil won't hurt a thing, just smoke a little bit. On two cycles I just oil them with plain old motor oil. On auto engines I often use STP.If it doesn't smoke for 10 minutes after the initial start up I worry I didn't use enough.

    Mac question

A 90 series Mac kart engine has plenty of go in it.If those things are in decent shape for a decent price I know one old farm boy in Ohio that could take a few if they are too much hastle. I think I can find that part of Indiana again .:hmm3grin2orange:
