tree md, that was the situation. I could have spent 4 hours rigging it down over the shed and through the brush at the bottom. or flop it over with a little help from the truck and some wedges in under an hour put some tension on the tree with the truck, notch and enough back cut to set a...

    old school wound paint

in what I have gathered, there are two reasons. to prevent disease transmission, ie. pruning a red oak during the active oak wilt season. make the cut with sterile saw and imediately paint. the prevent of the disease is more important than the harm to wound closure, trapped moisture etc. and...

    Willow tree butchered?

my apologizes, I missed the part were you were renting. I thought you were buying. The property is still not in the same shape it was when you agreed to rent it. I would think (with a lawyer perhaps) you could either get out of the agreement or argue for a reduced monthly rent

I'd look into holding up the sale, getting some $ off the price for future restoration pruning and care or having the tree removed and new ones planted (on the current owner's dime). I cleaned up a co-dominant weeping willow that lost one lead last year into the neighbor's...

    at a stihl dealership...

I had a problem at a dealer on a saw purchase. Should I stake this tree?

if properly planted, it should not need staking from the picture, I don't think it does It does look like the base of the tree has a hook or bend to it, can't rightly tell make sure your mulch isn't too high and extend the mulch bed out from the tree in the coming years
