Looking for piston and rings for my 034AV. I can't seem to find a meteor kit anywhere - maybe they don't make them for the 034 anymore? Bought a new saw, but would like to get the old one going as a backup. Thanks!

Do you run a different mix of fuel for this higher compression? What's the optimum compression? I would think at some point the compression becomes parasitic and reduces power.

Interesting work Brad. Two quick concerns: is the asymmetry going to cause problems with the balance of the piston? Also, is there much material left where you've thinned it out? I'm sure you already asked these questions, but I'm just curious.

I can't really figure out why it would do that, but it was like that when I got it. It's definitely worn down - I think the guy that gave it to did something major and then kept running it. If there is a bit of slop and the clutch grabs the drum at an angle, the drum would alternate back and...

yeah, I thought about a sleeve or an oversized bearing which I'm sure I could find, but the problem is the worn crankshaft itself. I can't even turn it down and put a new snap ring groove in it without taking it off the saw, and if I do that I'm not putting back on! ...or maybe I could start...

I did something just like this recently, sold the 290 and got a 361. Perfect for firewood. I don't ever have moments where I'm wishing I had more saw, just more money... Now I just need to find a home for the 034AV because it's pretty much the same saw as the 361...
