    stihl ms362 reviews

Having had a Husky 372XP, the 362 does'nt compare to it. The 372 pulls a 24" better than the 362 pulls a 20". But I would not consider it weak as it's quite a bit more powerful than my 028. As for me, it's good enough. Now if my flippy caps will stay on lol.

    Help with Stihl BR420 blower!

Everyone is spot on about the flooding. Having fuel compression and spark - there's one more thing I'd - air. Does'nt happen often, but check the filter to see if it is acceptable shape.

    Looking at a Husqvarna 372xp

I say the chances are equal with any saw, but what happens when a high-powered saw kicks back is much different. Get an experienced user to give you some tips (many here, maybe someone close to you) and always wear protective equipment. Any doubts about something you're fix'in to cut - don't do it.

    Looking at a Husqvarna 372xp

+1 If you don't like it and list it at a decent price, you'll sell it easily. Probably to the first interested person that sees it. Just keep the chain freshly sharpened - for those who want to see it in wood before purchasing. It will sell itself. Chances are you'll keep though.

Closeout price on the MS260 Pro

Our local dealer does'nt have any closeout deal on the MS260, but regular price is $469. He noted the 261 would be $50 more and seeing as how he's had no one who asked for the 261 yet, he'll keep stocking the 260 as long as possible.

    Transformation of a 028

Please excuse me for butting in, but I'd say before 1980. Reasoning is this, I bought my father a new after I started working full-time in summer 1980. The 028 I bought is a Wood Boss w/ electronic ignition, plastic tank and a chain brake. Maybe that will help your timeline.

finally got to run 2 tanks through my 361 today WHAT A POS

Just sold a Husky 372 and purchased a Stihl 362. The Stihl is a better saw - for me. It will do all I need a saw to do and then some, but cutting off the last of a few 20"-24"+ oak stumps - I wish I had the 372 back. It is certainly faster/more powerful saw. Good luck with your decision!

Anybody own or use a chainsaw on a stick?

+1 to saxman's comments. I've got a Stihl FS85 with a chainsaw attachment and it is very useful. Excellent for cutting up brush - not as fast as regular saws, but with a sharp chain it has no problem cutting up to 6-8" limbs. I expect the dedicated pole saws to be even better.

How much does a STIHL 362 cost in USA??

$609.00 w/ 20" bar plus tax here. I know because I just bought one 2 weeks ago. Happy with it so far, just getting used to the new choke lever & starting procedure.

    Toolbox

+1 They're not cheap, but construction, locks, and clear coat finish are excellent. Get a carpet remnant and cut-to-fit to put in the bottom to keep things from sliding around.

    Do & Don`t

Taking my own advice, I always prefer having someone more experienced than myself around. And that don't necessarily mean older - we had a young fellow around 22 yrs. old help a buddy and me cut a few trees. He had worked for Asplundh for a couple years. Learned a couple things and got an...

What saw are you buying yourself for Christmas?

Husky 372XP gone - maybe a mistake. Probably going to be a 362 or 441 replacement as my local dealer is pretty much Stihl. Time will tell.

Merry Christmas, and a big thanks to you guys on AS!

Merry Christmas to ya'll from North Carolina - maybe soon to be White Christmas.

    Oil

I ran Opti2 for about 9 years in blowers and weedeaters (my saws don't get the regular use as they do) - never a problem. I got tired of mashing a cold bottle or having it get a crack in it and changed to Stihl Ultra + prem. unleaded.

Hardest Timber you cut with your saw?

Bodark - if that's the mustard yellow colored stuff, it's very hard. My cousin uses it in place of ebony for bridge plates in acoustic guitars.

    Ebay saw pricing

I have not looked on Ebay lately, but I just sold a Husky 372XP real quick on CL for $450. First fellow that came to look at it bought it.
